Why it stands out
The 2024 Toyota Tacoma distinguishes itself with a variety of improvements and a well-regarded reputation for reliability. Now powered by a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, it delivers enhanced performance with 278 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque on most trims. The introduction of the TNGA-F platform marks a significant evolution, allowing for better handling dynamics and on-road manners. The Tacoma is available with both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations, providing versatility for a range of driving conditions.
In terms of technology, the Tacoma has made significant strides, featuring a standard 8-inch touchscreen and an optional 14-inch display on higher trims, complete with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. Safety has also been upgraded with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, introducing advanced features such as Lane Tracing Assist and a blind-spot monitoring system. While there are areas for improvement like cabin noise and manual seat adjustments, the Tacoma remains appealing to buyers looking for a midsize pickup that combines rugged capability with modern amenities.

The Toyota Tacoma Extra Cab not to be confused with Double Cab. Is new though I bought it used but at 17K it's close to new. While I haven't had it long enough for a full review. I have had Toyota PU's before and the last one I had went 225,000 miles and I still sold it for $2200 9/10 years later after I moved from MN to FL. This one has great pickup off of the 2.4 Liter Turbo and though it takes a climb to get into I'm looking into side railing steps via online suppliers. Overall I am happy with the purchase though I did bite in on the extended warranty since my trade in a downpayment brought the montly costs down low enough to make it affordable. I see F-150's and F-250's and Dodge Ram Trucks of similar make and size but for my money Toyota Truck are legendary for their ability to take wear and tear.
