Is the 2024 Genesis G70 a good car?

The 2024 Genesis G70 earns an 8.67/10 expert rating, and the standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

The G70 is positioned as a compact sport-luxury sedan that pairs sharp styling with strong powertrain choices, great handling, excellent build quality, and impressive safety tech. That makes it especially appealing if you care more about driving enjoyment and standard equipment than maximum space.

The main trade-offs are a small trunk, limited interior storage, and no wireless smartphone mirroring.

With 37.7% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive example.

Is the 2024 Genesis G70 reliable?

The 2024 Genesis G70 leans into strong build quality, a long powertrain warranty, and free scheduled maintenance for three years or 36,000 miles.

Its standard 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty is a major ownership advantage, and the expert evaluation also points to excellent build quality and abundant safety features. The performance notes describe the car as capable of taking abuse, which supports the impression of a well-engineered sedan.

You also get a maintenance perk with free scheduled maintenance for three years or 36,000 miles.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a compact luxury sedan with strong performance hardware can become more expensive to keep in top shape if it has been neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Genesis G70?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean title alone does not tell you how the car was driven or maintained. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin, trunk, and electronics, since this model is known for limited interior storage and a snug cargo area. It is also worth confirming that the safety and driver-assistance features work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin emphasizes attractive design, excellent build quality, and top-notch materials, but the base setup still leaves you with a snug interior and limited storage.
• Powertrain: You can choose a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque or a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 with 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque; both use an eight-speed automatic and are offered with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and Highway Driving Assist, while blind view monitor, a 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, and park-distance warning are available.
• Infotainment: Every G70 gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air updates, Genesis Connected Services, and standard navigation-based adaptive cruise control; wireless smartphone mirroring is not included.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.5-liter engine returns 24 miles per gallon combined in rear-wheel drive and 23 mpg combined with all-wheel drive, while the 3.3-liter engine is rated at 21 mpg combined in rear-wheel drive and 20 mpg combined with all-wheel drive.

Which 2024 Genesis G70 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Genesis G70 is offered in 4 trim levels: Advanced, Sport Prestige, Standard, Sport Advanced.

Here's the short version:

• Standard: This is the entry point for four-cylinder models, so it makes sense if you want the G70’s core style and driving character at the lowest price.
• Advanced: This is the best-value trim because it pairs the 2.5-liter engine with the features most shoppers will actually want, while keeping the price in check.
• Sport Advanced: This trim adds a step up for V6 shoppers who want more equipment without jumping straight to the top-spec model.
• Sport Prestige: This is the top-end choice for buyers who want the 3.3-liter V6 and the most upscale version of the G70 experience.

The standard safety package already includes a strong set of driver aids, so even lower trims are well covered.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Genesis G70?

The current market looks selective rather than overheated, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,042 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.96% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,041, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Genesis G70's resale value?

The current average of $32,116 sits slightly below last year's $34,892.

That price movement suggests the G70 has softened enough to help you buy more selectively today. If you sell later, the current market level gives you a realistic benchmark, but it also means you should expect some depreciation pressure if you buy near the top of the range.

For a future seller, the upside is that the G70’s strong equipment, warranty coverage, and premium image can help it stay appealing. The downside is that a lower current average price can cap how much value you recover if the market stays soft.

Is the 2024 Genesis G70 safe?

The 2024 Genesis G70 earns Good ratings from IIHS in crashworthiness and crash avoidance and mitigation.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and Highway Driving Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control and lane following assist. The available blind view monitor, 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, and park-distance warning add more confidence if you want extra visibility and convenience.

One caveat is the IIHS child-restraint result, where the lower LATCH anchors were judged too deep in the rear seats and difficult to maneuver around.

Should I buy a 2024 Genesis G70 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.96% compared with last year.
• A new, more powerful base engine arrives this year, and it pairs with excellent handling and impressive safety tech.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $30,724, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $32,116 average.
• It blends style, performance, and approachable technology.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around package, the 2024 is the better target because it adds the newer base engine and keeps the G70’s core strengths intact. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the smarter value play, especially if you find a clean example with the right equipment.
