How much does the 2024 Chevrolet Malibu cost?

Prices have softened 9.90% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 7,827 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Malibu a good car?

Generally — the 2024 Chevrolet Malibu earns a 4/5 user rating, which points to solid overall appeal for used-car shoppers. The overview frames it as a value-focused midsize sedan with a roomy cabin and easy-to-use features, so it fits you well if you want practical transportation rather than flash. It also stands out as Chevrolet’s last production sedan, which adds some significance if you like a model with a clear place in the brand’s history. Good and great deals make up 36.5% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Malibu reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview describes the Malibu as the most accomplished front-drive version of the nameplate, with better overall quality than earlier Malibus and a broad mix of technology and safety equipment over its run. That combination suggests a used example can be a sensible ownership choice if you prioritize comfort, space, and straightforward features. For long-term buyers, the main risk is less about complexity and more about finding one that has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by age or heavy use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Chevrolet Malibu?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully so you can confirm the car’s background and spot any prior damage or title issues. Put the inspection focus on overall condition, especially signs of wear that might matter more on a value-oriented sedan. It also makes sense to pay close attention to how the cabin, electronics, and driving feel line up with the mileage and asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Malibu?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 7,827 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.90% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,321, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Malibu's resale value?

The current average of $18,321 sits slightly below last year's $20,333.

That price movement suggests the Malibu has become more affordable in the used market, which can help you buy at a lower entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car is presented when it’s time to list it. If you buy carefully and keep the car in strong shape, you give yourself a better chance of recovering more of your investment later.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Malibu or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.90% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2024 if you want the Malibu’s final-year appeal, current pricing softness, and a broad pool of listings to compare. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2024 gives you a strong mix of value, availability, and buyer confidence.
