The Chevrolet Corvette is America’s sports car, but by 2020, its format was getting a bit stale. Chevy revamped the car that year with a new mid-engine design that had been rumored for decades without a substantive move toward development. It’s gotten a couple of new, more powerful variants in the years since, and it heads into 2024 with a few other updates in tow. ## What’s New for the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette The Corvette picked up new wheel designs, new colors, and a flashy “Artemis” green interior color choice for 2024 Chevy also offers an appearance package and updated accent color choices for the new model year. ## Design In moving to the mid-engine format, Chevy turned the already-aggressive-looking Corvette into a legitimate American supercar. Its sharp nose houses slim headlights and slopes drastically toward the front. Without the need to accomodate a large engine in the front, Chevy was able to give the car a more aggressive front end that tapers sharply. Around the sides, the car’s wide hips bring large air intakes to feed the V8 behind the cabin, and the rear end features more traditional-looking Corvette tail lights and quad exhaust outlets for the Stingray. ## Powertrain The 2024 Corvette Stingray gets a 6.2-liter V8 making up to 495 horsepower with the Z51 performance package. It’s paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) and rear-wheel drive (RWD). That combo produces a staggering sub-three-second zero-60-mph time. The Z06 gets a 5.5-liter flat-plane crank V8 that makes 670 horsepower and revs to 8500 rpm. Its zero-60-mph time is around 2.5 seconds. Chevy equips the E-Ray with a hybrid powertrain, all-wheel drive (AWD), and 655 combined horsepower. It’s capable of a 2.5-second zero-60-mph time and can drive on electric power for a few miles at up to 45 mph. ## Interior The two-seat Corvette features an upscale cabin with standard leather upholstery and two sporty bucket seats. The steering wheel features a flat bottom and top, and all controls and displays have been oriented toward the driver. Chevy offers a range of interior color choices from mild to wild, including red, tan, and, new for 2024, green. ## Technology The 2024 Corvette gets a 12-inch configurable digital gauge cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other standard tech includes a Wi-Fi hotspot, dual USB ports, 10 speakers, HD radio, SiriusXM, and more. Chevy’s infotainment system is colorful, responsive, and easy to use, making the Corvette a joy to interact with. ## Safety Chevy includes a couple driver aids as standard, including a rearview camera and rear parking sensors. Blind-spot monitoring, a head-up display, a rear camera mirror, and other features are available in higher trims and in packages. The ‘Vette hasn’t been crash tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) due to its cost. ## Pricing The 2024 Corvette Stingray starts at $66,300 before destination, while the E-Ray starts at $102,900 and the Z06 starts at $108,100. Prices exclude taxes, options, and the $1,595 destination charge.
