Is the 2024 BMW 8 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2024 BMW 8 Series earns a 5/5 user rating, which supports its appeal as a luxury grand tourer. The overview points to a car that blends strong performance with a polished, tech-rich cabin, while also emphasizing relaxed cruising and engaging road manners. It also stands out if you want rear passenger room in a sporty luxury package. With 35.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a reasonable chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2024 BMW 8 Series reliable?

The overview suggests a car built around comfort, performance, and premium refinement, which is the kind of formula many used buyers look for in a grand tourer. Its tradeoffs are more about ownership costs and usability than basic appeal. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that expensive options and high depreciation can make the car costlier to own than it first appears.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 BMW 8 Series?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and confirm the car’s service records before you buy. Put a pre-purchase inspection at the top of your checklist, especially if the car has been optioned heavily or driven frequently. Focus on overall condition, since premium features and luxury trim can be expensive to refresh if they show wear.

What is the 2024 BMW 8 Series's resale value?

The current average of $65,732 sits slightly below last year's $72,479.

That decline suggests the market has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if prices stabilize. If you buy at the right number now, you may have less downside left than a buyer who paid closer to last year’s average. Still, the model’s premium positioning means resale will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW 8 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $59,109, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $65,732 average.
• It offers multiple body styles and a broader lineup.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2024 if you want the stronger current-market mix of pricing, inventory quality, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2023 is the better value path and still delivers the same upscale grand-touring character.
