For the 2024 model year, the changes are minimal and the vehicle is largely a carryover. ## Design While its coupe counterpart, the 4 Series, has embraced BMW's new large, garish grille design, the 3 Series retains a more restrained approach to its front-end design. The 330e is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) that combines a turbo-four with a battery and electric motor to put out a combined 288 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. For the performance enthusiast, look to the M340i. It’s powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six that makes 382 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. All three of these engines route power through an eight-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels or to available xDrive all-wheel drive (AWD). The M340i xDrive can sprint from zero to sixty in just 4.1 seconds. If that’s not quick enough for you, there’s always the weapons-grade BMW M3 (listed as a separate model). The 330i returns fuel economy of 25 mpg city, 34 highway, and 29 combined. Fuel economy for the 330i xDrive is 24 mpg city, 33 highway, and 27 combined. Both the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and xDrive AWD versions of the M340i return 23 city, 31 highway, and 26 combined. The 3 Series requires premium fuel.
