How much does the 2024 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 9.83% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,784 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Acura MDX a good car?

The 2024 Acura MDX is a strong fit if you want a well-rounded luxury SUV that balances comfort, refinement, and family usefulness. It earns a 3.5/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating.

The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Safety.

It stands out for strong engines, sharp handling, and lots of standard features, while still offering space for the family and their gear. The trade-offs are clear: the third row is small, the ride can feel firm for some drivers, and the infotainment system is frustrating enough to overshadow some of the SUV’s strengths.

With 37.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Acura MDX reliable?

The 2024 Acura MDX is presented as a dependable, well-rounded luxury SUV with strong safety credentials and a practical family focus. Its expert rating and overview both point to a vehicle that covers the bases well, especially if you value comfort, refinement, and everyday usability.

The performance side is described as strong and composed, with quick throttle response and a transmission that manages power well. The cost-effectiveness notes also point to a long warranty, which helps support ownership confidence.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about mechanical weakness and more about whether the frustrating tech experience becomes a daily annoyance over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Acura MDX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or a vehicle with multiple owners. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and whether the tech interface and controls work the way you expect before you commit.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base model includes tri-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, synthetic leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable front seats, and heated front seats. Higher packages add features like navigation, ambient cabin lighting, premium audio, genuine leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, remote start, heated second-row seats, massaging front seats, and a top-end sound system.
• Powertrain: The standard setup uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. The Type-S uses a twin-scroll turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with 355 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque, and the Type-S trims add Brembo performance brakes and adaptive air suspension.
• Safety package: The MDX comes standard with automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-departure warning, driver attention monitoring, traffic-sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The Technology Package adds front and rear parking sensors, reverse automatic emergency braking, and rain-sensing windshield wipers, while the Advance package adds a 360-degree parking camera system and a head-up display.
• Infotainment: The MDX uses a 12.3-inch display with a touchpad controller, and it comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, satellite radio, HD radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, multiple USB ports, a fully digital instrument panel, and wireless device charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The most efficient version returns 19 mpg city, 26 highway, and 22 combined. Non-Type-S AWD versions return 19 mpg city, 25 highway, and 21 combined, while the Type-S test vehicle is rated at 17 mpg city, 21 highway, and 19 combined.

Which 2024 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2024 Acura MDX is offered in 6 trim levels: Technology Package, A-Spec Package, Advance Package, Type-S, Type-S Advance, and the base model.

Here's the short version:

• Technology Package: This is the best-value choice if you want a meaningful upgrade over the base model, since it adds navigation, ambient cabin lighting, a 12-speaker ELS premium stereo system, and genuine leather upholstery.
• A-Spec Package: Choose this if you want a sportier look and feel, plus the upgraded 16-speaker ELS audio system, perforated leather seats, ventilated front seats, and the in-cabin intercom system.
• Advance Package: This is the comfort-focused pick, adding a heated steering wheel, additional USB ports, remote start, and heated second-row seats.
• Type-S: Pick this if you want the biggest performance jump, since it adds the twin-turbo V6, Brembo brakes, and adaptive air suspension.
• Type-S Advance: This is the top-end choice if you want the Type-S performance hardware plus the 26-speaker ELS sound system and massaging front seats.
• Base model: This works if you want the lowest entry point and are comfortable giving up the extra convenience, audio, and luxury features found higher up the range.

The safety suite is standard across the lineup, while the Technology Package and Advance package add extra parking and visibility aids.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Acura MDX?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,784 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.83% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $40,708, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $40,708 sits slightly below last year's $45,144.

That price movement suggests the MDX has softened enough to give used buyers better entry pricing than a year ago. If you buy well now, you may have less depreciation pressure than someone who paid closer to last year’s average.

For a future seller, the key takeaway is that condition and trim will matter a lot. A clean, well-equipped MDX should hold up better than a higher-mileage example with fewer features or visible wear.

Is the 2024 Acura MDX safe?

The 2024 Acura MDX earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Good score in all phases of IIHS evaluation. It is also a 2022 IIHS Top Safety Pick+.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The MDX comes with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance features, including automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-departure warning, driver attention monitoring, traffic-sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Higher trims add front and rear parking sensors, reverse automatic emergency braking, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a 360-degree parking camera system, and a head-up display.

The main caveat is that the infotainment setup can distract you because it requires more attention than a touchscreen-based system.

Should I buy a 2024 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.83% compared with last year.
• It adds a new Type-S trim level for stronger performance.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $37,720, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $40,708 average.
• It adds complimentary AcuraLink connected services and scheduled maintenance.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $46,948, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $40,708 average.
• It brings a refreshed cabin with simpler, more intuitive controls.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the best all-around choice if you want the strongest mix of value, performance, and safety. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2023 is the smarter bargain, while the 2025 makes sense if you want the newer user experience and are willing to pay more.
