How much does the 2024 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 9.87% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,073 listings available, which suggests solid inventory availability.

Is the 2024 Acura MDX a good car?

With a 3.5/5 user rating and an expert rating of 7.83/10, the 2024 Acura MDX looks like a strong all-around luxury SUV with a few notable compromises. It is comfortable and refined for everyday driving or road trips, and it offers space for the family and their gear.

The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Safety.

Its strengths include strong engines, sharp handling, and lots of standard features, while the main trade-offs are a frustrating infotainment system, a ride that can feel firm for some drivers, and a small third row. That makes it especially appealing if you want a three-row luxury SUV that drives well and covers the basics effectively, but less ideal if you prioritize maximum cabin space or easy-to-use tech.

42.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2024 Acura MDX reliable?

The 2024 Acura MDX is presented as a well-rounded luxury SUV with a strong safety record and a long warranty backing it up. Its expert evaluation also emphasizes that it is cost-effective and built to handle daily driving, road trips, and family duty with confidence.

The performance notes point to a refined powertrain, quick throttle delivery, and a transmission that manages power well. The cost-effectiveness notes also highlight a four-year, 50,000-mile limited warranty and a six-year, 70,000-mile powertrain warranty, which helps reduce early ownership risk.

For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is that the infotainment system may remain a persistent frustration if you plan to keep the vehicle for years.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Acura MDX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history carefully, because a clean report matters even when the market looks healthy. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the infotainment controls, interior condition, and any signs that the ride quality or cabin layout may not suit your needs. If you plan to use the third row often, make sure it works for your passengers before you buy.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base model includes tri-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, synthetic leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable front seats, and heated front seats. Higher packages add features such as ambient cabin lighting, navigation, upgraded audio, genuine leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, an in-cabin intercom system, a heated steering wheel, remote start, heated second-row seats, massaging front seats, and a 26-speaker sound system.
• Powertrain: The standard setup uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. The Type S uses a twin-scroll turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with 355 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque, and the Type S also adds Brembo performance brakes and adaptive air suspension.
• Safety package: The standard suite includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-departure warning, driver attention monitoring, traffic-sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Higher packages add front and rear parking sensors, reverse automatic emergency braking, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a 360-degree parking camera system, and a head-up display.
• Infotainment: The MDX uses a 12.3-inch display with a touchpad controller, and it comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, satellite radio, HD radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, multiple USB ports, a fully digital instrument panel, and wireless device charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The most efficient version returns 19 mpg city, 26 highway, 22 combined. Non-Type-S AWD versions return 19 mpg city, 25 highway, 21 combined, and the Type-S returns 17 mpg city, 21 highway, 19 combined.

Which 2024 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2024 Acura MDX is offered in 7 trim levels: Base, Technology Package, A-Spec Package, Advance Package, Type-S, Type-S Advance, and SH-AWD.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point if you want the MDX’s core strengths at the lowest price, including a panoramic sunroof, heated front seats, and wireless smartphone integration. It makes sense if you want the standard luxury and safety equipment without paying for extras.
• Technology Package: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds navigation, ambient cabin lighting, a 12-speaker ELS premium stereo, and genuine leather upholstery. It is the sweet spot if you want a more upscale feel without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• A-Spec Package: Choose this if you want a sportier look and feel, plus perforated leather seats, ventilated front seats, a 16-speaker ELS audio system, and the in-cabin intercom system. It suits you best if style and cabin upgrades matter more than pure value.
• Advance Package: This trim is for you if comfort and convenience are the priority, thanks to a heated steering wheel, additional USB ports, remote start, and heated second-row seats. It is the better pick if you want a more family-friendly luxury setup.
• Type-S: This is the performance-focused choice, with the turbocharged V6, Brembo brakes, adaptive air suspension, and the features from the Technology and A-Spec packages. It is the right pick if you want the strongest driving character in the lineup.
• Type-S Advance: This is the most luxurious and most expensive version, adding the 26-speaker sound system and massaging front seats. Buy this only if you want the top-end experience and are willing to pay for it.
• SH-AWD: This is the all-wheel-drive version for buyers who want added traction and the broader non-Type-S lineup. It is a practical choice if you want AWD without moving into the performance-oriented Type-S.

The safety package is comprehensive across the lineup, while the Technology Package adds parking sensors and reverse automatic emergency braking, and the Advance package adds a 360-degree camera system and head-up display.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Acura MDX?

This looks like a buyer-friendly moment if you are shopping the 2024 Acura MDX, especially if you are willing to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right one.

• Deal availability: 42.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,073 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.87% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $41,561, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $41,561 sits slightly below last year's $46,111.

That price movement suggests the MDX has become more affordable for buyers, but it also means sellers may face more competition than they did a year ago. If you plan to sell later, the current market points to a softer resale environment than before. A well-kept example with a clean history and desirable equipment should still stand out, but pricing it aggressively will matter.

Is the 2024 Acura MDX safe?

The 2024 Acura MDX earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard driver-assistance suite includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-departure warning, driver attention monitoring, traffic-sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Higher trims add front and rear parking sensors, reverse automatic emergency braking, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a 360-degree parking camera system, and a head-up display.

One caveat is that the infotainment setup can distract you because it requires more attention than a touchscreen-based system.

Should I buy a 2024 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 42.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.87% compared with last year.
• It adds a new Type-S trim level for stronger performance.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $38,648, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $41,561 average.
• It offers a fresh redesign with lower early ownership costs.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $47,838, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $41,561 average.
• It brings a refreshed, simpler, more intuitive tech experience.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the best all-around pick if you want the strongest mix of performance, safety, and market value. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the smarter budget path, while the 2025 makes sense if you want the newer tech direction and are willing to pay more.
