Is the 2023 Volvo S60 a good car?

The 2023 Volvo S60 stands out as a compact luxury sedan that blends Scandinavian design, strong safety credentials, and a broad range of powertrains. It also gives you an upscale cabin with thoughtful standard equipment, including a panoramic moonroof, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 9-inch touchscreen.

For shoppers who want a stylish sedan with a distinctive cabin, strong safety equipment, and available performance or plug-in hybrid power, it offers a characterful alternative to the usual luxury-sedan choices. 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which adds some market appeal if you’re ready to shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Volvo S60 reliable?

The 2023 Volvo S60 emphasizes strong safety credentials, and every S60 came standard with City Safety. It also earned IIHS Top Safety Pick+ recognition in both 2021 and 2022, which supports its reputation as a safety-focused luxury sedan.

For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about finding a well-kept example than worrying about the model’s core safety mission. You should still pay close attention to maintenance history and overall condition, especially if you plan to keep the car for several years.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Volvo S60?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should confirm the car’s history report, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch any hidden issues before you commit. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and whether the car’s equipment and trim level match what you want, since the S60’s appeal depends heavily on its cabin, features, and how well it has been cared for.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Volvo S60?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right example.

• Deal availability: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 676 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.22% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,005, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Volvo S60's resale value?

The current average of $28,005 sits slightly below last year's $31,902.

That price movement suggests the S60 has become more approachable for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later, especially if you choose a clean, well-documented example.

Should I buy a 2023 Volvo S60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.22% compared with last year.

The bottom line:

The 2023 Volvo S60 is the right pick if you want the updated look, strong safety focus, and a broad mix of powertrains in a year that currently shows meaningful price softness. If you’re more price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby model years to see whether a lower entry price outweighs the 2023’s current market position and feature set.
