Used 2023 Toyota Highlander for Sale near New Mexico

How much does the 2023 Toyota Highlander cost?

Prices have softened 3.91% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,034 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Toyota Highlander a good car?

Yes — 4.75/5 is a strong user rating for this model year, and the Highlander’s overview points to a practical midsize SUV that prioritizes comfort and versatility. It offers gas and hybrid powertrains, standard front-wheel drive with available all-wheel drive, and up to 84.3 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats folded down. You also get an 8-inch touchscreen, USB inputs, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa across the lineup.

That makes it a strong fit if you want a family SUV that handles daily duties well, offers hybrid efficiency, and emphasizes safety and ease of use over driving excitement. 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2023 Toyota Highlander reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview describes the Highlander as a vehicle with a reputation for reliability, and it also highlights standard Toyota Safety Sense features such as lane-keep assist, lane-departure alerts, and automatic emergency braking. Those traits support the idea that this model year is built for dependable everyday use rather than flash.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright capability and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn down by family-duty mileage.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Toyota Highlander?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still review the history report carefully, because even a strong accident-free share does not guarantee the specific vehicle you’re considering has a clean past. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the SUV has higher mileage or signs of heavy family use. Focus on overall condition, including interior wear, tire condition, and how well the cabin electronics and safety systems operate.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Toyota Highlander?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find decent value.

• Deal availability: 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,034 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.91% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $34,305, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Toyota Highlander's resale value?

The current average of $35,163 sits slightly below last year's $36,594.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also mean future resale gains are more limited than in a rising market. Even so, the Highlander’s practical layout, strong utility, and broad appeal should help it stay relevant with used shoppers. If you keep the vehicle in good condition and maintain it well, you should be in a better position when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Toyota Highlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.91% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $32,142, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $35,163 average.
• It emphasizes the basics buyers need most.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced shopping target, the 2023 is the stronger all-around pick thanks to its current pricing, solid inventory, and strong satisfaction signal. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2022 is the better value path and still delivers the Highlander’s core family-friendly strengths.
