Used 2023 Toyota Crown for Sale nearSaint Louis, MO

How much does the 2023 Toyota Crown cost?

Prices have softened 2.43% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 390 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Toyota Crown a good car?

It’s a solid fit if you want a distinctive, comfort-focused hybrid sedan with broad appeal rather than a flashy performance car. The user rating is 3.5/5, and the expert rating is 6.33/10.

The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 8/10.

The Crown’s elevated ride height gives you a sedan-like driving position with easier entry and exit, while its styling is meant to stand out without feeling excessive. It’s described as comfortable and fuel-efficient, and the overall package is aimed at everyday usability.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, the cargo area is limited, and the interior materials feel cheap. That means you’ll likely appreciate it most if you value efficiency, comfort, and a distinctive look more than speed or upscale cabin finishes.

33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there’s some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Toyota Crown reliable?

The Crown is built around a hybrid setup and is described as comfortable, fuel-efficient, and easy to live with, which supports the case for low-stress daily use. Its standard hybrid system is also presented as the economical choice, and the cabin is tuned for quiet, relaxed driving.

The performance notes point to a conventional hybrid layout with an electric motor assisting the gas engine, plus all-wheel drive when traction is needed. That kind of setup generally favors smooth operation over drama, and the Crown’s comfort-first tuning reinforces that impression.

The cost-effectiveness notes also emphasize strong fuel economy, which can help reduce day-to-day ownership strain. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a car with this much technology and hybrid hardware can become more expensive to keep if neglected, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Toyota Crown?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage doesn’t replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the hybrid system, brakes, tires, and any signs of uneven wear or prior bodywork. Pay close attention to cabin condition too, since the interior materials are described as less upscale than the styling suggests.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Crown is offered in XLE, Limited, and Platinum. The base trim gets the core hybrid setup and standard AWD, while higher trims add more convenience and luxury features. The Platinum stands out with a two-tone color option, a digital key, and a semi-automated parallel parking system.
• Powertrain: The standard setup uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid system with 236 horsepower and on-demand AWD, while the Platinum can be equipped with the Hybrid Max powertrain that uses a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder and produces 340 horsepower. The base hybrid is the efficiency play, while the Hybrid Max is the stronger but less efficient choice.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes frontal and cross-traffic collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, traffic-sign recognition, and a rear-seat-passenger reminder. The Platinum adds a semi-automated parallel parking system.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, OTA software updates, and a wireless charging pad. Higher trims can upgrade to an 11-speaker JBL premium audio system, and the Platinum includes a digital key feature.
• Fuel efficiency: The base hybrid is estimated at 42 mpg city, 41 mpg highway, and 41 mpg combined, while the Hybrid Max is rated at 29 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined.

Which 2023 Toyota Crown trim should I buy?

The 2023 Toyota Crown is offered in 3 trim levels: XLE, Limited, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• XLE: This is the value pick if you want the Crown’s core appeal without paying for extras. You still get the standard hybrid powertrain, AWD, the 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, and the full safety suite, so it covers the essentials well.
• Limited: This is the best-value upgrade if you want more comfort and convenience without jumping to the top price. It builds on the base trim with additional equipment and is the trim to target if you want a more premium feel while staying focused on everyday usability.
• Platinum: This is the one to choose if you want the most features and the strongest powertrain. It adds the Hybrid Max setup, adaptive suspension, a digital key, and a semi-automated parallel parking system, but it makes more sense if you care about performance and tech than pure value.

The Platinum trim adds a semi-automated parallel parking system, while the lower trims keep the standard safety package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Toyota Crown?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 390 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.43% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $32,933, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Toyota Crown's resale value?

The current average of $33,474 sits slightly below last year's $34,307.

That tells you the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it suggests the Crown is holding value reasonably well, but not strongly enough to expect appreciation.

If you buy at the right price and keep the car in clean condition, you should be able to limit depreciation pain. The softer trend also means resale will likely depend more on trim, mileage, and condition than on broad market momentum.

Is the 2023 Toyota Crown safe?

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include frontal and cross-traffic collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, traffic-sign recognition, and a rear-seat-passenger reminder. The Platinum trim adds a semi-automated parallel parking system.

The driver-assistance systems are described as well tuned for smooth driving, but some of the newer proactive driving aids can feel intrusive. That means you may want to test those systems on your own route before you buy, especially if you prefer a more hands-off or less intervention-heavy setup.

Should I buy a 2023 Toyota Crown or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.43% compared with last year.
• The 2023 stands out as the first model year with a unique elevated-sedan formula, strong fuel efficiency, and broad appeal without chasing performance or luxury excess.

The bottom line: If you want the Crown’s distinctive look, comfortable ride, and strong efficiency, the 2023 is a sensible buy. If you’re especially price-sensitive, focus on the cleanest XLE or Limited listings and let the softer market work in your favor.
