How much does the 2023 Lexus RZ cost?

Prices have softened 3.58% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 335 listings available, which suggests you have a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Lexus RZ a good car?

With a 3/5 user rating and an expert rating of 9.2/10, the 2023 Lexus RZ looks strongest if you want a luxury EV that feels approachable rather than intimidating. The model scores 10/10 across Performance and Cost effectiveness.

The overview points to Lexus’s first dedicated battery-electric vehicle, standard all-wheel drive, and several Lexus-first features, so you get a clear sense of novelty and a premium identity. The expert review also highlights an easy EV driving experience and a truly natural feel behind the wheel.

The main trade-off is practicality: the cabin does without a glove compartment, which is an unusual omission in a premium daily driver. That said, if you value a distinctive luxury EV with standard AWD and a low learning curve, the RZ fits that brief well.

With 40% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Lexus RZ reliable?

The 2023 Lexus RZ is presented as a thoughtfully engineered first-generation EV with a battery system Lexus says is supported by water-based cooling and heating to help manage temperature. The expert review also emphasizes a minimal learning curve and a natural driving experience, which are good signs for everyday usability.

Lexus says the RZ’s 96-cell lithium-ion battery pack is designed with longevity in mind, and the brand backs ownership with ChargePoint fast-charging access and home charger installation tutorials. It also offers a dedicated customer service line for RZ owners and lessees, which can make early ownership easier.

For used buyers, the biggest long-term risk is simply buying into a newer EV platform without a long track record, so battery condition and charging habits deserve extra attention.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Lexus RZ?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean title alone does not tell you how the car was maintained or charged. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on battery health, charging behavior, tire wear, and any signs of uneven use. Since this is an EV, you should also pay attention to how the vehicle has been driven and charged over time, especially if you plan to keep it long term.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Premium trim gets the core RZ experience, while Luxury adds more convenience and driver-assistance equipment. The base setup already includes standard all-wheel drive and the main Lexus-first design touches, but Luxury is the better fit if you want more of the high-end tech and comfort features.
• Powertrain: The RZ uses two electric motors with standard Direct4 all-wheel drive and 308 horsepower. Lexus says it can reach 60 mph in 5.0 seconds, and the dual-motor setup is part of what gives it its strong, easygoing EV character.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard, with adaptive cruise control, lane-tracing assist, lane-departure alert, road-sign assist, pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and parking assist with auto braking and rear pedestrian detection. Luxury adds traffic-jam assist and a driver-monitoring camera.
• Infotainment: Every RZ gets a 14-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, OTA updates, Bluetooth, SiriusXM, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and five USB-C ports. The Technology Package adds a head-up display, Advanced Park, and Digital Key on Premium, while Luxury includes those features by default.
• Range & charging: EPA range is 220 miles with 18-inch wheels and 196 miles with 20-inch wheels, and the battery is 71.4 kWh. The RZ is set up for easy ownership with access to ChargePoint fast charging and home charger installation support.
• Battery health: On a used EV, you should ask for battery state-of-health information if available, review charging history, and favor cars that have seen a balanced mix of home charging and occasional DC fast charging rather than repeated hard use. Also check how much of the battery warranty remains so you know how much coverage you still have if capacity drops over time.

Which 2023 Lexus RZ trim should I buy?

The 2023 Lexus RZ is offered in 2 trim levels: Premium and Luxury.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the value play if you want the RZ’s core strengths without paying for every extra. You still get standard AWD, the 14-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, OTA updates, and the easy EV driving experience that defines the model.
• Luxury: Choose this if you want the most complete version of the RZ. It adds the more upscale convenience and driver-assistance equipment, plus the premium audio system and other features that make it feel more fully loaded.

The Luxury trim also gets the added safety and convenience features from Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, including traffic-jam assist and the driver-monitoring camera.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Lexus RZ?

This looks like a buyer-friendly moment if you’re shopping the 2023 Lexus RZ, with meaningful deal availability and a softer price trend.

• Deal availability: 40% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 335 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.58% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,320, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Lexus RZ's resale value?

The current average of $33,267 sits slightly below last year's $34,503.

That price movement suggests the RZ has already absorbed some early depreciation, which can help you as a used buyer. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in good condition, you may avoid the steepest part of the initial drop.

For a future seller, the current trend is a reminder that EV pricing can move quickly as inventory and incentives shift. A well-kept example with strong battery health and a clean history should be easier to defend on resale than one with uncertain charging habits or accident history.

Is the 2023 Lexus RZ safe?

The 2023 Lexus RZ has not yet been evaluated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 suite is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control, lane-tracing assist, lane-departure alert, road-sign assist, pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and parking assist with auto braking and rear pedestrian detection. Luxury trims add traffic-jam assist and a driver-monitoring camera.

Because the RZ is still relatively new, you should pay close attention to any future crash-test results and make sure the trim you’re considering includes the driver-assistance features you want.

Should I buy a 2023 Lexus RZ or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 40% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.58% compared with last year.
• The 2023 stands out as Lexus’s first dedicated BEV, with standard AWD and an easy EV driving experience.

The bottom line: If you want the first-year RZ with its standard AWD, approachable driving feel, and strong expert score, the 2023 is the one to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, keep shopping the market closely and focus on the cleanest, best-priced example you can find.
