Used 2023 Lexus GX for Sale nearColorado Springs, CO

How much does the 2023 Lexus GX cost?

Prices have softened 1.96% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,301 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Lexus GX a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Lexus GX earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 6/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 7/10.

Owners consistently praise its luxurious feel, proven reliability, and powerful V8 engine. They also highlight its off-road capability and comfort, which fit the GX’s rugged-yet-refined mission.

The trade-offs are familiar: poor fuel economy and outdated technology. That makes the GX a better fit if you want a traditional SUV with towing and off-road ability rather than a modern crossover experience.

With its body-on-frame layout and clear use case, it suits you best if you value capability and old-school SUV character. Good and great deals account for 35.6% of listings, so there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Lexus GX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as reliable and proven, with a reputation for being dependable over time. The V8 and traditional SUV hardware reinforce that sense of durability, especially if you want something you can count on for towing or rougher use.

The GX’s rugged construction and straightforward powertrain also support its long-term ownership appeal. For used buyers, the main risk is that age-related wear and outdated tech can matter more than outright mechanical complexity.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Lexus GX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on any GX you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important on a body-on-frame SUV that may have seen towing, trail use, or heavy family duty. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and signs that the vehicle has been used hard rather than just how it presents in photos.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim includes a 10.3-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and a real 4WD system, but it misses some top-end features like lane-tracing assist and road-sign recognition.
• Powertrain: The GX uses a naturally aspirated 4.6-liter V8 with 301 horsepower and 329 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic and standard four-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure alert, adaptive cruise control, parking assist, and automatic high beams, though lane-tracing assist and road-sign recognition are not included.
• Infotainment: The GX has a 10.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and Lexus Remote Touch Interface, but the system is dated and the graphics are not especially crisp.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA estimates 15 mpg city, 19 highway, and 16 combined.

Which 2023 Lexus GX trim should I buy?

The 2023 Lexus GX is offered in 4 trim levels: GX 460, GX 460 Premium, GX 460 Luxury, GX 460 Black Line.

Here's the short version:

• GX 460: This is the entry point, and it already gives you the GX’s core appeal: V8 power, standard 4WD, a 10.3-inch touchscreen, and the rugged character that defines the model. It’s the trim to start with if you want the GX experience without paying for extras you may not need.
• GX 460 Premium: This trim adds more comfort and convenience equipment, making it the best-value choice for many shoppers who want a nicer daily driver without jumping to the top end.
• GX 460 Luxury: This is the trim to choose if you want the most upscale GX experience, with more premium equipment and the richest feature set in the lineup.
• GX 460 Black Line: This limited edition adds distinctive appearance treatment and the panoramic monitor as standard, so it makes sense if you want something more exclusive.

The safety package includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure alert, adaptive cruise control, parking assist, and automatic high beams, but it does not include lane-tracing assist or road-sign recognition.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Lexus GX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,301 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.96% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $54,478, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Lexus GX's resale value?

The current average of $54,509 sits slightly below last year's $55,597.

That modest decline suggests the GX has softened a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper short-term resale gains if you plan to sell soon. The current pricing also shows that demand remains steady enough to keep values from falling sharply.

For a future seller, the key is that the GX still has a clear niche: buyers who want towing, off-road ability, and a V8. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Lexus GX safe?

The 2023 Lexus GX has not been crash tested by either NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus equips it with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure alert, adaptive cruise control, parking assist, and automatic high beams. The GX is missing a few higher-end driver-assistance features, including lane-tracing assist and road-sign recognition.

Because the GX is based on an older design, you should weigh its standard safety tech against the lack of crash-test results and the model’s age. That doesn’t make it unsafe, but it does mean you should be especially careful about condition and maintenance history on a used example.

Should I buy a 2023 Lexus GX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.96% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 keeps the GX’s V8-powered, body-on-frame formula intact while still offering modern infotainment and driver-assistance basics.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $46,844, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $54,509 average.
• It emphasizes rugged off-road capability and towing strength.

The bottom line: If you want the GX’s V8, towing ability, and traditional SUV feel, the 2023 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is saving money and you can live with the older model year’s similar rugged mission, the 2022 is the value play.
