Used 2023 Kia Soul for Sale nearAlbuquerque, NM

How much does the 2023 Kia Soul cost?

Prices have softened 4.38% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,945 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare on price and condition.

Is the 2023 Kia Soul a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Kia Soul earns a 4.62/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its value, spacious interior, and driving comfort, and the review summary also points to its safety features and enjoyable ride. On the expert side, the Soul’s practical packaging and strong value proposition stand out, while the overview frames it as a good fit if you want something spacious, affordable, and a little more interesting than the average commuter car.

The main trade-offs are its fairly pedestrian performance and the fact that advanced safety features are not standard. Even so, the market shows 34.9% of listings are good or great deals, which suggests there’s still room to find a compelling example.

Is the 2023 Kia Soul reliable?

Owners rate it 4.62/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a car that feels dependable in everyday use, with praise centered on value, comfort, and the kind of ownership experience people can count on. The expert review also describes the Soul’s powertrain as stress-free in normal driving, and notes that Kia backs it with a generous warranty package that helps reduce ownership anxiety.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright complexity and more about finding a well-kept example with the right equipment and condition, especially since some desirable safety and convenience features are not standard on every trim.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Kia Soul?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully, because accident-free status does not replace a proper inspection. Pay close attention to trim content, since the base model leaves out some convenience and safety equipment that you may want. It also makes sense to focus on seat comfort, feature content, and overall condition, especially if you plan to keep the car for a while.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the most basic version, while the S adds more safety equipment and the EX and GT-Line bring additional convenience and tech. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more standard features.
• Powertrain: You get a single 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive. The discontinued turbo engine and electric version are not part of this model year’s lineup.
• Safety package: Forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and a driver attention monitor are standard. The S adds lane change assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and automatic high beams. The GT-Line Technology Package adds junction-turning detection, navigation-based adaptive cruise control, and Highway Drive Assist.
• Infotainment: The base LX gets an 8-inch touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster. Higher trims move to a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation, wireless phone charging, and extra USB ports. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard with the smaller screen, while the larger screen uses wired versions.
• Fuel efficiency: Most models are rated at 30 mpg combined (28 mpg city, 33 mpg highway), while the EX is rated at 31 mpg combined (29 mpg city, 35 mpg highway).

Which 2023 Kia Soul trim should I buy?

The 2023 Kia Soul is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, S, EX, and GT-Line.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Soul’s core personality at the lowest price. It has the standard 8-inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, and the newly standard driver-assist basics, but it is also the trim most likely to feel stripped down if you want more comfort or safety content.
• S: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a meaningful safety upgrade over the LX, including blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane change assist, and automatic high beams. If you want a more complete daily driver without stretching too far up the lineup, this is the one to focus on.
• EX: This trim is the better pick if you want more comfort and tech, including the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, navigation, wireless charging, and extra USB ports. It also gets slightly better fuel economy than the rest of the lineup.
• GT-Line: This is the style-forward choice, with the sportiest appearance and available GT-Line Technology Package that adds the most advanced driver-assist content. It makes sense if you want the most distinctive look and the richest feature set, but the extra package cost weakens the value equation.

The safety-package gap is worth noting: the most advanced driver-assist features are not standard across the lineup, and some of them require the GT-Line Technology Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Kia Soul?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,945 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.38% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,724, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Soul's resale value?

The current average of $17,179 sits slightly below last year's $17,966.

That price movement suggests the Soul has softened enough to create a better buying opportunity now, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about pricing if the market stays soft. The current range still shows healthy demand, which helps support resale stability, especially for cleaner examples with desirable equipment.

If you keep the car in good condition and choose a well-equipped trim, you should have a better shot at holding value than if you buy the most basic version. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Kia Soul safe?

The 2023 Kia Soul earns Good ratings in all IIHS crash-test categories, but it also receives an Acceptable rating for child-seat anchor ease of use. It earns a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in side-impact protection.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia made several driver-assist features standard for 2023, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and a driver attention monitor. Moving up to the S adds lane change assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and automatic high beams. The GT-Line Technology Package adds junction-turning detection, navigation-based adaptive cruise control, and Highway Drive Assist with automated lane centering.

The main caveat is that some of the more advanced safety tech still requires a higher trim or option package, and the expert review notes that Highway Drive Assist did not always work especially well in crosswinds.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Soul or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.38% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 model adds more standard driver-assist features and a revised trim lineup, making it a smart pick if you want the updated version of the Soul’s formula.

The bottom line: The 2023 Soul is the better choice if you want the updated trim structure, more standard safety content, and a market that currently favors careful shoppers. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby older year may be worth considering, but you should expect to give up some of the 2023 updates and shop more carefully for equipment.
