How much does the 2023 Hyundai Kona cost?

Is the 2023 Hyundai Kona a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2023 Hyundai Kona. It stands out as one of the more distinctive subcompact SUVs because it combines unusual styling with a broad range of equipment and powertrain choices, and it was designed to feel less anonymous than many rivals. For you, that means the Kona makes the most sense if you want a small SUV with personality, available all-wheel drive, and a strong mix of technology and everyday usability. The market also shows 37.1% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Hyundai Kona reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Hyundai Kona benefits from a first-generation platform that had already been refreshed for 2022, bringing updated front-end styling, standard wireless smartphone integration, and improved adaptive cruise control. It also had already gained many advanced safety systems by 2019, which supports its reputation as a well-equipped small SUV. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic capability and more about whether the specific vehicle has been maintained well and still feels right for your space needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Hyundai Kona?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report to confirm the car’s accident and title background, then prioritize a thorough inspection of the interior and cargo area. The Kona is known for being cramped inside and short on cargo space, so pay close attention to whether the condition and layout still work for your daily use. If you’re considering a turbocharged or performance-oriented version, make sure the test drive feels smooth and that all features operate as expected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Hyundai Kona?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you focus on the right listings.

• Deal availability: 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,072 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.99% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,821, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Hyundai Kona's resale value?

The current average of $20,099 sits slightly below last year's $20,718.

That softer pricing suggests the Kona is holding value reasonably well, but not aggressively appreciating. If you buy at the right price, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation later because the market has already adjusted downward. The Kona’s distinctive styling and broad equipment mix can help keep it appealing to used shoppers, especially if you choose a well-kept example with desirable features.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Hyundai Kona or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $17,675, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $20,099 average.
• It adds a refreshed look and more capable, better-equipped trim choices.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $21,482, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $20,099 average.
• It brings a full redesign with new tech and a fresh look.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around choice if you want a balanced mix of price, features, and inventory depth. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2022 is the smarter value play because it delivers much of the same appeal for less money. If you want the newest design and are willing to pay more, the 2024 is the upgrade path to consider.
