Used 2023 Kia Niro for Sale nearConroe, TX

How much does the 2023 Kia Niro cost?

Prices have softened 2.36% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 465 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Kia Niro a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Kia Niro earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, safety, and fuel economy, and they also highlight its spacious interior and smooth drive. That lines up well with the Niro’s use case as a practical, fuel-focused hybrid for shoppers who want efficiency without giving up everyday usability. The main trade-offs are the lack of an all-wheel-drive option and some sound-system quirks, while the transmission is also called out as a drawback in expert testing. Even so, it remains a strong fit if you want a modern hybrid with broad appeal and a well-equipped feel. Good and great deals account for 31.0% of listings, which suggests there’s still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Kia Niro reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a reliable, dependable, and trouble-free ownership experience, with buyers especially appreciating the car’s comfort and fuel economy over the long term. Expert testing also describes the hybrid as comfortable and pleasant to drive once it settles in, with a quiet cabin for the segment and minimal vibration on rough pavement. Kia also notes that the Niro is packaged and priced to be competitive, which helps support confidence in day-to-day ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is more about livability trade-offs than outright durability, especially if you expect all-wheel drive or a more polished transmission.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Kia Niro?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any listing you’re serious about, because accident-free status is only a starting point. Prioritize a close inspection of the transmission behavior, cabin electronics, and overall condition, since those are the areas most likely to affect your day-to-day satisfaction. It also makes sense to compare trims carefully, because the equipment spread is meaningful on this model.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LX is the most stripped-down version, with the smaller 8-inch infotainment screen and cloth upholstery, while EX and SX move to a more upscale cabin with vegan leather and a more premium feel. If you want the best value, the EX is the sweet spot because it adds a stronger comfort and convenience mix without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• Powertrain: The hybrid uses a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine paired with a 32kW electric motor for 139 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque, and it is front-wheel drive only. It also uses a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, and the hybrid setup is tuned more for efficiency than quick acceleration.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes blind-spot monitoring with collision avoidance, forward collision avoidance with pedestrian detection and junction turning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, lane-following assist, driver attention warning with lead-vehicle departure alert, high beam assist, and intelligent speed limit assist. Smart cruise control with stop and go, highway driving assist, and front and rear parking distance warnings are available, so you should check whether a specific listing includes those extras.
• Infotainment: The base LX gets an 8-inch touchscreen, while other trims use a 10.25-inch system with navigation, a premium sound system, and satellite radio. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are limited to the smaller screen, so higher trims require wired smartphone connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid is rated at 53 mpg combined on trims without the Touring package, with 53 mpg city and 54 mpg highway. Touring models are rated at 49 mpg combined, with 53 mpg city and 43 mpg highway.

Which 2023 Kia Niro trim should I buy?

The 2023 Kia Niro is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, EX, SX.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest price and are comfortable with the smaller 8-inch screen and a simpler cabin. It still gives you the core hybrid efficiency and standard safety equipment, but it is the least upscale choice.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds heated front seats, rear air vents, wireless phone charging, customizable mood lighting, and a Smart Key with push-button start. It also moves you to the larger 10.25-inch infotainment system, which makes the cabin feel much more complete.
• SX: This is the most feature-rich trim, adding ventilated front seats, memory seats, a heated steering wheel, and an external subwoofer. Choose it if you want the most comfort and convenience equipment and are willing to pay for it.

Safety equipment is standard across the lineup, so your trim decision mostly comes down to how much comfort, tech, and cabin polish you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Kia Niro?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find decent opportunities.

• Deal availability: 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 465 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.36% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,739, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Niro's resale value?

The current average of $22,614 sits slightly below last year's $23,160.

That softer pricing trend suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and trim than on broad market momentum. If you buy well now and keep the car clean and well documented, you’ll be in a better position when it’s time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Kia Niro safe?

The 2023 Kia Niro earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Safety is a major strength here because Kia makes a long list of advanced driver-assistance features standard. That includes blind-spot monitoring with collision avoidance, forward collision avoidance with pedestrian detection and junction turning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, lane-following assist, driver attention warning with lead-vehicle departure alert, high beam assist, and intelligent speed limit assist. Smart cruise control with stop and go, highway driving assist, and front and rear parking distance warnings are available, so higher trims can add more convenience and confidence. Safety ratings for this model year were not yet available in the source material, so the expert safety score is the clearest benchmark here.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Niro or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The all-new redesign brings a more modern cabin, stronger styling, and a fuel-focused hybrid setup with a best-in-class 53 mpg combined.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the right pick if you want the redesigned Niro’s modern look, strong fuel economy, and standard safety tech, especially now that prices have eased a bit. If you’re mainly shopping on price, you may also want to compare nearby years, but the 2023 stands out as the more modern and well-rounded choice in this generation.
