How much does the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

With 5,233 listings available, you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a 4.9/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Drivers consistently praise its comfort, advanced features, and impressive value. The user feedback also points to a luxury-SUV feel, especially in the technology and safety experience, along with a smooth driving character. The overview frames it as a two-row midsize SUV for you if you want a well-equipped family crossover without paying a premium.

The main trade-offs are an underwhelming base engine and the lack of an N-Line performance variant. Even so, the market still shows 38.6% good or great deals, which suggests there are solid opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find comfortable, advanced, and impressive in value, with several owners describing it as a smooth and enjoyable SUV to live with. That same feedback also highlights a reputation for dependable day-to-day use, especially for shoppers who want a family vehicle they can count on over time.

The expert evaluation also emphasizes Hyundai’s industry-leading warranty and complimentary maintenance, which helps reduce ownership stress. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure any example you consider has been maintained properly, especially if you want to avoid surprises as mileage climbs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are strong but not universal. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with more equipment. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and whether the features you want are present on the exact trim you’re shopping.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE is the most basic version, with an 8-inch touchscreen and a simpler instrument display, while higher trims add more upscale cabin materials, larger displays, and more comfort features. The Limited and Calligraphy also get the projector-type headlights that the safety testing favored over the reflector-style units on lower trims.
• Powertrain: You get a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder in SE, SEL, and XRT trims, while Limited and Calligraphy use a turbocharged version with much stronger output. The turbo setup is the better choice if you want quicker acceleration and stronger passing power.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian, cyclist, and junction-turning detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, driver monitoring, a safe-exit system, and a rear-seat reminder system. Highway Driving Assist comes standard on SEL and above.
• Infotainment: The base SE uses an 8-inch display audio system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other trims upgrade to a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation and traffic information, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are wired on those versions.
• Fuel efficiency: The non-turbo FWD version returns 26 mpg combined, while the AWD version gets 24 mpg combined. The turbo FWD version delivers 25 mpg combined, and the turbo AWD version gets 24 mpg combined.

Which 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 5 trim levels: SE, SEL, XRT, Limited, and Calligraphy.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Santa Fe experience at the lowest price. It makes sense if you want the value story and standard safety equipment without paying for extras you may not need.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a larger touchscreen with navigation, wireless device charging, and more convenience features without jumping into luxury pricing.
• XRT: Choose this if you want the more rugged-looking trim with dark exterior details, unique wheels, black roof rails, and H-Tex seating surfaces. It’s the style-forward choice in the lineup.
• Limited: This is the sweet spot if you want the turbocharged engine, leather seats, a digital gauge cluster, heated steering wheel, premium audio, cooled front seats, heated rear seats, and a panoramic sunroof.
• Calligraphy: Pick this if you want the most upscale Santa Fe, with premium Nappa leather, ambient lighting, a head-up display, premium exterior details, and the most luxury-oriented feature set.

The safety package is broad across the lineup, but Highway Driving Assist starts on SEL and above.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,233 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,336, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $24,023 sits slightly below last year's $24,036.

That small decline suggests the Santa Fe has held its value fairly well rather than swinging sharply up or down. For you as a future seller, that kind of stability can make ownership easier to predict because the market is not showing signs of a steep drop.

The model’s strong value reputation and broad appeal should help keep buyer interest steady. Well-equipped examples with the right trim and condition are likely to remain easier to move than less desirable configurations.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe received the highest-possible five-star overall rating from NHTSA and Top Safety Pick+ recognition from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

You get a long list of standard driver-assistance features, including forward-collision warning with pedestrian, cyclist, and junction-turning detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, driver monitoring, a safe-exit system, and a rear-seat reminder system. Highway Driving Assist comes standard on SEL and above, so lower trims miss that added convenience feature.

The Santa Fe also earned Good ratings across IIHS crashworthiness tests, which reinforces its strong safety profile. For used buyers, the main thing to watch is trim level, since some of the more helpful convenience and lighting upgrades are reserved for higher versions.

Should I buy a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It carries over nearly unchanged, with minor equipment shuffling and a small horsepower bump for the base engine.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $21,070, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $24,023 average.
• It adds a new plug-in hybrid version and a new XRT trim.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $30,300, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $24,023 average.
• It brings a full redesign with a bolder look, more space, and standard third-row seating.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, features, and proven appeal, the 2023 is the safest all-around pick. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2022 can save you money, while the 2024 is the move if you want the redesign and can stretch your budget.
