Used 2023 Hyundai Elantra for Sale nearPortland, OR

How much does the 2023 Hyundai Elantra cost?

Prices have softened 3.55% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,007 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2023 Hyundai Elantra a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Hyundai Elantra earns a 4.88/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its fuel economy, safety features, and value for the price, and they also like the stylish design and tech features. The overview also points to a roomy cabin and a lineup that can cover basic transportation, a fuel-efficient hybrid, and a budget-friendly sports sedan.

The main trade-offs are the polarizing exterior design and some complaints about interior quality and cabin noise. In practical terms, that means you should expect a car that fits a wide range of needs well, but one that may not win you over if you prioritize a quiet, upscale-feeling cabin above all else.

The market looks healthy, with 38.9% of listings priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2023 Hyundai Elantra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, especially around fuel economy, safety features, and value. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Elantra is easy to live with and built around a cost-effective ownership proposition.

Hyundai’s complimentary scheduled maintenance for the first three years or 36,000 miles adds another ownership perk. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about core dependability and more about finding a well-kept example that avoids the interior wear and noise complaints some owners mention.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Hyundai Elantra?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on cabin condition, road noise, and any signs of rattles or trim wear. It also makes sense to compare how the car’s equipment matches the trim level you want, since the lineup spans everything from basic transportation to more feature-rich versions.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Elantra SE is the least expensive choice, while the SEL and Limited add more upscale feel and equipment. The SEL Convenience package adds the 17-inch wheels from the Limited trim, and the N Line gets a 10.25-inch digital instrumentation panel and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
• Powertrain: The standard setup uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 147 horsepower, a continuously variable transmission, front-wheel drive, and a torsion-beam rear axle. The lineup also includes hybrid versions with 50 mpg to 54 mpg combined, plus the turbocharged N Line and the 276-horsepower Elantra N.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic high-beam headlights, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, a safe exit warning system, a driver monitoring system, and a rear-seat reminder system. Higher trims add cyclist detection, intersection turning assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, and Highway Driving Assist.
• Infotainment: The available 10.25-inch digital instrumentation and infotainment displays bring Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, connected services, dynamic voice recognition, navigation, and wireless smartphone charging. Bluetooth is wireless, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto require a USB connection.
• Fuel efficiency: The test vehicle averaged 33 mpg during evaluation, close to its official 34 mpg rating. Hybrid versions are rated between 50 mpg and 54 mpg combined.

Which 2023 Hyundai Elantra trim should I buy?

The 2023 Hyundai Elantra is offered in 6 trim levels: SE, SEL, Limited, Blue, N Line, N.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point if you want the lowest price and the core Elantra experience. It makes the most sense if you care most about value and are comfortable with a simpler setup.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more everyday comfort and flexibility without jumping all the way to the pricier upper trims.
• Limited: This is the right pick if you want the most upscale-feeling standard Elantra, with the cabin presentation and tech making it feel more premium than the price suggests.
• Blue: This is the efficiency-focused hybrid choice, and it is the trim to target if fuel economy is your top priority.
• N Line: This is the sporty middle ground, adding a more engaging character and the larger digital displays while staying more approachable than the full performance model.
• N: This is the enthusiast choice if you want the most power and the most serious performance character in the lineup.

The safety package is broad across the lineup, while higher trims add more advanced driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Hyundai Elantra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,007 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.55% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,683, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Hyundai Elantra's resale value?

The current average of $18,963 sits slightly below last year's $19,661.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that a well-priced Elantra should still attract interest, but you should not expect rapid appreciation.

Strong value positioning helps support demand, especially when the car is known for efficiency, safety, and broad appeal. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Hyundai Elantra safe?

The 2023 Hyundai Elantra earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star frontal crash protection and five-star ratings in all other crash-test categories.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety suite includes automatic high-beam headlights, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, a safe exit warning system, a driver monitoring system, and a rear-seat reminder system. Higher trims add cyclist detection, intersection turning assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, and Highway Driving Assist.

The main caveat is that the IIHS Top Safety Pick rating was not carried forward for 2023. Even so, the Elantra’s standard safety equipment is extensive, and the driving-assist systems are described as smooth and subtle in everyday use.

Should I buy a 2023 Hyundai Elantra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It broadens display availability and keeps the lineup versatile across efficiency, comfort, and performance.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $16,921, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $18,963 average.
• It emphasizes value, fuel economy, safety tech, and warranty coverage.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $19,579, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $18,963 average.
• It adds a mild refresh with more style and standard equipment.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, features, and market availability, the 2023 is the smart default. If your budget is tighter, the 2022 is the value play, while the 2024 makes sense if you want the newer refresh and are willing to pay more.
