Is the 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD a good car?

Generally — the 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD earns a 4/5 user rating, which supports its appeal as a heavy-duty pickup with a more upscale lean than many rivals. The overview points to a broader range of trim levels, including Denali and Denali Ultimate versions, plus comfort and technology features such as Bluetooth, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. That makes it a strong fit if you want heavy-duty capability with a more premium cabin and more configuration flexibility than many competitors. 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview also points to a truck that can be appealing for buyers who want capability, comfort, and technology in one package. At the same time, used examples can show issues such as check engine lights, infotainment sluggishness, rough or delayed shifts, electrical glitches, MultiPro tailgate problems, and faulty trailer brake controllers. For long-term ownership, that means you should pay close attention to maintenance history and condition so you do not inherit expensive repair risk.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still confirm the history report, because accident-free status does not tell you everything about maintenance or repair quality. Put a priority on a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for the transmission, electronics, infotainment system, tailgate operation, and trailer brake controller. Focus on overall condition and how the truck drives under load, since heavy-duty use can hide wear that is not obvious in photos.

• Inventory: There are 3,870 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.31% compared with last year.

What is the 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $53,765 sits slightly below last year's $58,636.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale will depend heavily on how well the truck holds up and how clean its history is. If you keep mileage reasonable, maintain it well, and avoid examples with warning lights or unresolved electrical issues, you should be in a better position when it is time to sell. Trucks with desirable trims and strong condition tend to draw more attention in the used market.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• It balances capability with everyday versatility.

Consider the 2024 if:
