Used 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup for Sale nearDallas, TX

Is the 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup a good car?

The 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup earns an 6.7/10 expert rating, and it stands out as a supertruck with a dramatic personality, quick acceleration, and a spacious cabin. The model scores 8/10 across Technology and Safety.

That said, the trade-offs are real: it is under-braked, and it has no spare tire. The overview also makes clear that its efficiency is much worse than expected, so you’re buying into a vehicle that prioritizes character, capability, and packaging over everyday practicality.

If you want something far more distinctive than a conventional pickup and you value off-road ability and a roomy interior, this truck has a strong appeal. The 28.7% share of good and great deals suggests there is at least some market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup reliable?

The 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup is presented as a heavy, highly specialized EV with clear strengths in capability and packaging, but also with meaningful ownership compromises. Its performance notes emphasize the large battery, the weight penalty that comes with it, and the need to manage charging conditions carefully if you want the fastest possible DC charging.

The cost-effectiveness notes also point to the truck’s poor efficiency, which makes it expensive to live with relative to its size and performance. If you’re considering one used, the long-term risk is less about simple mechanical complexity and more about expensive ownership if you end up with a truck that has been charged hard, used heavily off-road, or maintained inconsistently.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has been used off-road or fast-charged frequently. Focus on tire condition, underbody wear, charging behavior, and whether the truck’s equipment and driver-assistance features are functioning as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The interior is far from luxurious and skews toward hard plastic utility, though the leather seats are comfortable and heated and cooled. You also get plenty of physical buttons and knobs for HVAC controls, which is a useful everyday advantage.
• Powertrain: The truck uses three electric motors producing a combined 1,000 horsepower and north of 1,000 lb-ft of torque. It is described as amazingly quick, but its weight makes stopping a bigger concern than acceleration.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes blind-spot monitoring, rear emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, forward collision avoidance, and the Ultravision suite of 18 cameras. That camera system includes two waterproof underbody cameras and a top-down view, which is especially useful for off-road driving.
• Infotainment: The truck has a 13.4-inch infotainment touchscreen with Google Maps built in, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has a digital gauge cluster that can be reconfigured multiple ways.
• Range & charging: The truck has a 205-kWh battery pack and can take advantage of ultra-fast charging with a peak rate of 300 kW. GMC says that can add 100 miles of range in 10 minutes, but the battery must be conditioned first, which can take up to 30 minutes, and cold weather can slow charging.
• Battery health: For a used EV, you should check battery state-of-health, ask how often the truck was DC fast charged versus charged at home, and confirm whether the battery warranty still has meaningful coverage left. A truck like this is best evaluated with a careful charging and usage history.

Which 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup trim should I buy?

The 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup is offered in 1 trim level: Edition 1.

The Edition 1 is the trim to focus on if you want the full Hummer EV experience as described here: the big battery, the three-motor setup, the off-road hardware, and the tech-heavy cabin. It is the only trim explicitly identified in the data, so there isn’t a lower-cost alternative to compare against in this model-year information.

The safety package note is straightforward: the truck includes blind-spot monitoring, rear emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, forward collision avoidance, and the Ultravision camera suite as standard equipment.

Is the 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup safe?

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety equipment includes blind-spot monitoring, rear emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, forward collision avoidance, and the Ultravision suite of 18 cameras. That camera system is especially useful because it includes two waterproof underbody cameras and a top-down view, which helps you place the truck in tight spaces and on rough terrain.

The main caveat is that the truck is described as under-braked, so even with its safety tech, you should expect to leave plenty of room when driving. The available driver-assistance setup also includes Super Cruise, which handles throttle, braking, and steering on designated roads and highways and can initiate lane changes.

Should I buy a 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup or consider a different year?

• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
