Should I buy a 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.57% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.43/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $41,430, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $46,128 average.
• It offers broad mainstream appeal with standard all-wheel drive and strong everyday usefulness.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market picture and are comfortable paying more for a newer used truck, the 2023 is the better primary target. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2022 is the smarter secondary path, especially if you find one in good condition with the equipment you want.
