How much does the 2023 Ford Bronco cost?

Prices have softened 9.07% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,393 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Ford Bronco earns 4.27/5 from owners and 8.00/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise its off-road capability, comfort, rugged design, and overall driving experience. The Bronco’s broad lineup and multiple body styles also make it appealing if you want something that can fit different needs and budgets.

The main trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard and fuel economy is below average. In practical terms, that means you’re getting a highly capable, highly desirable SUV, but not one that leads the class on efficiency or standard driver assistance.

With 36.0% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market still offers some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco reliable?

Owners rate it 4.27/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable, with owners repeatedly highlighting its off-road capability, comfort, and overall driving experience. The Bronco’s rugged design and feature set also contribute to the sense that it’s built for long-term use rather than short-term flash.

The expert drive notes reinforce that impression by describing the Bronco as capable on pavement and in the dirt, with straight tracking on the highway and a quieter cabin than a comparable Wrangler. The cost-effectiveness notes also point out that the Bronco’s upgrades are covered by a factory warranty on the Raptor, which underscores the brand’s confidence in the hardware.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Bronco’s ruggedness comes with efficiency and practicality compromises, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford Bronco?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report on any Bronco you’re considering, especially if it has been used hard off-road or modified. A pre-purchase inspection is worth prioritizing because this model’s appeal often comes from capability, and that can mean more wear on suspension, tires, and underbody components. Focus on overall condition, not just mileage, since trail use can leave signs that aren’t obvious at first glance.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Base trim is the most stripped-down version, with steel wheels and little adornment, while higher trims add more personality and capability. The Heritage trim brings a throwback grille, roof, wheels, and plaid seat upholstery, and the Heritage Limited trim adds even more of that nostalgic character. The Raptor sits at the top with a wide stance, elevated height, and massive tires, while the Black Diamond is described as a good middle ground.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.3-liter four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, a 2.7-liter V6 with 330 hp and 415 lb-ft, or a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 in the Raptor with 418 hp and 440 lb-ft. The four-cylinder can be paired with a seven-speed manual or 10-speed automatic, while the 2.7-liter V6 is automatic-only.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, trailer-sway assist, and Trail Turn Assist. The Mid package adds a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking proximity sensors, and automatic high beams, but it is not available on the Base model. The High package adds front parking sensors and a 360-degree camera system, and the Luxe package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist.
• Infotainment: Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Ford’s SYNC 4. Most Broncos come with an eight-inch touchscreen, though a 12-inch display is available and easier to use. Wireless charging is available as an option.
• Fuel efficiency: The four-cylinder is estimated at up to 20 mpg combined, though it can drop to 17 mpg depending on options. The 2.7-liter V6 is rated at 17-18 mpg, and the Raptor is estimated at 15 mpg.

Which 2023 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?

The 2023 Ford Bronco is offered in nine trim levels: Base, Black Diamond, Heritage, Heritage Limited, and Raptor.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the most affordable entry point, but it’s also the most bare-bones, with steel wheels and fewer features than the higher trims. It makes sense if you want the Bronco’s core capability and plan to build from there.
• Black Diamond: This is the best-value trim if you want a strong balance of price and capability. The cost-effectiveness notes call it a good middle ground, and it’s the trim the experts point to if you want to add the Sasquatch package for extra off-road upgrades.
• Heritage: Choose this if you want the Bronco’s retro personality dialed up. The white grille, roof, and wheels, plus plaid seat upholstery, make it the most style-forward choice in the middle of the lineup.
• Heritage Limited: This is for you if you want the Heritage look with a more upscale, more capable feel. It keeps the nostalgic design theme while moving further up the lineup.
• Raptor: This is the extreme choice, with the widest stance, tallest stance, and biggest tires. It’s the one to buy if you want the most powerful and most aggressive Bronco, but it’s also the least practical for most shoppers.

The Mid package is not available on the Base trim, so if you want more driver-assistance features, you’ll need to move up.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford Bronco?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing softness to reward patience.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,393 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.07% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $41,145, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Ford Bronco's resale value?

The current average of $41,145 sits slightly below last year's $45,251.

That price movement suggests the Bronco has cooled from its earlier level, which can be helpful if you’re buying now but less ideal if you’re planning to sell soon. A softer market can mean more competition from similar listings, so future sellers may need to price carefully and present their vehicle well.

Even so, the Bronco’s strong owner satisfaction helps support demand. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.27/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco safe?

The 2023 Ford Bronco earns four-star ratings for frontal crash protection and three-star ratings for rollover protection from NHTSA, while IIHS gave the four-door model its top “Good” score in all crashworthiness tests except head restraints and seats, where it received “Acceptable.”

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, trailer-sway assist, and Trail Turn Assist. The Mid package adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking proximity sensors, and automatic high beams, but it is not available on the Base trim. The High package adds front parking sensors and a 360-degree camera system, while the Luxe package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist.

The Bronco’s safety story is mixed because its crash-test results are only partial and its advanced driver-assistance features are not standard across the lineup. That means you should pay close attention to trim level and option content if safety tech matters to you.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.07% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.27/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It combines broad trim choice with strong off-road capability and desirable styling.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $37,390, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $41,145 average.
• It offers serious off-road ability with better everyday drivability.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $44,873, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $41,145 average.
• It adds a standard 12-inch infotainment system and updated trim details.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, inventory, and broad appeal, the 2023 is the smart default. If your priority is spending less, the 2022 is the value play; if you want newer tech and don’t mind paying more, the 2024 is the upgrade path.
