How much does the 2023 Ford Bronco cost?

Prices have softened 9.39% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,635 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Ford Bronco earns a 4.3/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise its off-road capability, comfort, rugged design, and overall driving experience. The Bronco’s broad range of body styles and configurations also helps it fit different needs, from everyday use to more trail-focused shopping.

The main trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard and fuel economy is below average. In practical terms, that means you get a highly versatile SUV with strong appeal, but you should be selective about trim and equipment if you want more convenience and driver-assistance content.

The market shows 32.6% good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels rugged, capable, and dependable in day-to-day use, with many drivers describing it as a strong long-term companion. The same feedback also highlights comfort and a driving experience that keeps owners happy over time.

The expert notes reinforce that impression by describing the Bronco as a vehicle that can handle both highway driving and serious off-road use without losing its composure. For maintenance, the first scheduled visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that higher-mileage examples may have seen hard use, so condition and service history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford Bronco?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the Bronco has been used off-road. Focus on signs of trail wear, interior durability, and any evidence that the vehicle has been modified or heavily used.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Base trim has a bare-bones look with steel wheels and little adornment, while higher trims add more personality and capability. The safety package also matters because the Base model does not get the Mid package.
• Powertrain: The Bronco is available with a 2.3-liter four-cylinder, an optional 2.7-liter V6, and a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 in Raptor form. The base engine is described as more than adequate, while the V6 options add power for heavier or more demanding use.
• Safety package: All Broncos come standard with forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, trailer-sway assist, and Trail Turn Assist. The Mid package adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking proximity sensors, and automatic high beams, while higher packages add front parking sensors, a 360-degree camera system, adaptive cruise control, and evasive steering assist.
• Infotainment: Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Ford’s SYNC 4. Most Broncos come with an eight-inch touchscreen, and the available 12-inch display is the better choice for ease of use.
• Fuel efficiency: The four-cylinder engine is estimated at up to 20 mpg in combined city and highway driving, and depending on options that can drop as low as 17 mpg. The 2.7-liter V6 is rated between 17 and 18 mpg, while the Raptor is estimated at 15 mpg.

Which 2023 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?

The 2023 Ford Bronco is offered in 9 trim levels: Base, Black Diamond, Heritage, Heritage Limited, and Raptor.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the most affordable entry point, but it is the most stripped-down version and lacks the Mid package. It makes sense if you want the Bronco experience at the lowest cost and plan to add only the equipment you truly need.
• Black Diamond: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it sits in the middle of the lineup and is the one the experts would pair with the Sasquatch package for added off-road capability.
• Heritage: This trim leans into the retro look with a throwback white grille, roof, and wheels, plus unique plaid seat upholstery. It suits you if style and nostalgia matter as much as capability.
• Heritage Limited: This is the more capable version of the Heritage theme, so it fits you if you want the same distinctive appearance with a stronger equipment story.
• Raptor: This is the top dog, with a wide stance, elevated height, and massive tires. It is the right pick if you want the most extreme Bronco and are willing to pay for it.

The safety package is important here because the Mid package is not available on the Base trim, while higher packages add more driver-assistance equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford Bronco?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,635 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.39% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $40,854, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Ford Bronco's resale value?

The current average of $40,854 sits slightly below last year's $45,087.

That decline suggests the market has cooled from a stronger position, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper what you recover later as a seller. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can reduce the impact of that softer trend.

The Bronco’s broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand over time. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco safe?

The 2023 Ford Bronco earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and three-star ratings for rollover protection from NHTSA, and Good ratings from IIHS in all crashworthiness tests except head restraints and seats, where it received Acceptable.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

All Broncos come standard with forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, trailer-sway assist, and Trail Turn Assist. The Mid package adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking proximity sensors, and automatic high beams, while higher packages add front parking sensors, a 360-degree camera system, adaptive cruise control, and evasive steering assist.

The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you may need to move up the trim ladder or add packages to get the equipment many mainstream SUVs include more broadly.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.39% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It adds Heritage-inspired variants to the lineup.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $37,072, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $40,854 average.
• It offers serious off-road ability with better everyday drivability.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $44,366, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $40,854 average.
• It adds a standard 12-inch Sync 4 infotainment system.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, inventory, and satisfaction, the 2023 is the strongest all-around choice. If your priority is spending less, the 2022 is the better value path; if you want newer tech, the 2024 is worth the premium.
