Used 2023 Dodge Challenger for Sale nearNew Orleans, LA

How much does the 2023 Dodge Challenger cost?

Prices are up 3.43% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 2,567 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2023 Dodge Challenger a good car?

Yes — 4.8/5 owners rate it highly, and the expert score is 7.17/10. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the powerful performance, fun driving experience, and modern tech features. They also highlight the ample legroom and trunk space, and many say it delivers strong value in the muscle-car segment.

That lines up with the Challenger’s use case as a final-year, horsepower-first coupe that leans into old-school character while still offering comfortable day-to-day livability and easy-to-use technology. The trade-offs are clear, though: poor fuel economy and outdated technology are part of the package.

Only 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards shoppers who move carefully.

Is the 2023 Dodge Challenger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a car that feels powerful, fun, and strong on value, with the kind of appeal that tends to keep people happy over time. It also suggests a model that owners feel good about living with, which supports confidence in day-to-day dependability.

The expert evaluation reinforces that this is a familiar, well-sorted muscle car rather than a complicated one, and the straightforward controls and hardware help it feel approachable. If you buy used, the bigger long-term risk is less about novelty and more about how hard the car was driven and maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Dodge Challenger?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on higher-performance examples that may have been driven hard. Focus on overall condition, signs of abuse, and whether the car’s equipment matches the way you plan to use it.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Black Ghost is based on the SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody and adds exclusive retro detailing, premium Laguna semi-aniline leather upholstery, simulated suede, and carbon-fiber trim, but the cabin still relies on inexpensive plastic and modern tech is limited beyond the basics.
• Powertrain: The Black Ghost uses a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with 807 hp and 707 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission; it is built for extreme acceleration rather than efficiency.
• Safety package: The Black Ghost includes a low-resolution reversing camera, rear parking sensors, automatic high-beam headlights, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, while forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control are unavailable.
• Infotainment: The Black Ghost gets an 8.4-inch Uconnect 4 touchscreen, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth streaming audio, a navigation system, and a Harman Kardon premium sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert test drive data cites 15 mpg in combined driving, and the road test returned 15.7 mpg on a testing loop.

Which 2023 Dodge Challenger trim should I buy?

The 2023 Dodge Challenger is offered in 1 trim level: Black Ghost.

Here's the short version:

The Black Ghost is the one to buy if you want the most dramatic, collectible version of the final-year Challenger and you value exclusivity, retro design details, and maximum straight-line theatrics over modern convenience. It is the rarest and most special-feeling version described here, but it also comes with the biggest compromises in efficiency and safety equipment.

The safety package is limited, and advanced driver-assistance features are not standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Dodge Challenger?

This is a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you have room to shop, but the best examples still deserve quick action.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,567 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.43% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 83.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $41,201, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Dodge Challenger's resale value?

The current average of $43,045 sits slightly above last year's $41,616.

That upward move suggests the market still places value on this final-year Challenger, especially as a sendoff model with strong enthusiast appeal. For a future seller, that can help support pricing if your car is clean, well-kept, and documented.

The year-round range also gives you a useful benchmark: if you buy near the low end and keep the car in strong condition, you have a better shot at preserving value. Special-edition appeal and strong demand for the model’s performance image should also help keep interest alive.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Dodge Challenger safe?

The 2023 Dodge Challenger earns favorable IIHS ratings only in two outdated frontal- and side-impact tests.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

The Challenger’s safety equipment is limited: the test car had a reversing camera, rear parking sensors, automatic high-beam headlights, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control are unavailable on this version, so you are relying heavily on your own attention behind the wheel.

That lack of standard driver assistance is the main caveat here, and it’s especially important if you plan to use the car as a daily driver. The car can protect you in a crash, but it does not surround you with the kind of active safety net many newer shoppers expect.

Should I buy a 2023 Dodge Challenger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.43% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The final-year Challenger brings special-edition “Last Call” models, including the Black Ghost and the 1,025-horsepower SRT Demon 170.

The bottom line: If you want the most collectible and emotionally satisfying version of the Challenger, the 2023 is the one to target. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a lower entry point, but you’ll give up some of the final-year appeal and special-edition cachet that make this one stand out.
