Used 2023 Dodge Challenger for Sale nearDallas, TX

How much does the 2023 Dodge Challenger cost?

Prices are up 3.67% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 2,604 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2023 Dodge Challenger a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Dodge Challenger earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, fun driving experience, and modern tech features. They also like the ample legroom and trunk space, and many say it stands out in the muscle car segment for value.

The trade-offs are familiar for a car with this personality: poor fuel economy and outdated technology. The overview also frames it as a comfortable, easy-to-use coupe with a strong sense of occasion, which helps explain why it appeals even with those compromises.

Good and great deals account for 30.4% of listings, so there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Dodge Challenger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car people feel good about living with, especially because it is seen as strong on value and enjoyable over time. That kind of response usually lines up with a vehicle that owners feel confident keeping and recommending.

The expert evaluation also describes it as having held up remarkably well considering its age, which supports the idea that it can be a dependable used buy if it has been cared for properly. The cost-effectiveness discussion reinforces that this is a final-year, Hemi-powered model with lasting appeal, but you should still expect higher running costs than a more ordinary coupe.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic durability and more about the cost of keeping a high-performance muscle car in good condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Dodge Challenger?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any car you are serious about, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a documented record. A pre-purchase inspection matters here too, especially if the car has been driven hard or modified. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, brake wear, and signs that the car has been used as intended rather than babied.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Black Ghost adds exclusive retro styling, premium Laguna semi-aniline leather upholstery, simulated suede trim, and genuine carbon fiber accents, while the base SXT is much more basic and starts the lineup with rear-wheel drive. The Black Ghost also sits at the top of the range, so you are paying for rarity and presentation as much as equipment.
• Powertrain: The Black Ghost uses a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with 807 hp and 707 lb-ft of torque, and the summary notes that the SRT Demon 170 reaches 1,025 horsepower. The performance content also points to an eight-speed automatic transmission, adaptive damping suspension, stout Brembo brakes, and sticky Pirelli tires.
• Safety package: The Black Ghost includes a low-resolution reversing camera, rear parking sensors, automatic high-beam headlights, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control are unavailable on the SRT Hellcat Redeye and, by extension, the Black Ghost.
• Infotainment: The Black Ghost gets an 8.4-inch Uconnect 4 touchscreen, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth streaming audio, a six-month SiriusXM trial, navigation, and a Harman Kardon premium sound system. The interface is described as intuitive, but the voice recognition system is aging.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA-rated combined fuel economy is 15 mpg, and the test loop returned 15.7 mpg.

Which 2023 Dodge Challenger trim should I buy?

The 2023 Dodge Challenger is offered in 2 trim levels: SXT and Black Ghost.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point to the lineup, and it makes sense if you want the Challenger shape and everyday usability without paying for the rare special-edition hardware and luxury touches of the Black Ghost.
• Black Ghost: This is the clear choice if you want the most distinctive and collectible version, with exclusive retro styling, premium materials, a supercharged V8, and the strongest performance character in the lineup. It is the best-value pick only if rarity and top-end presence matter more to you than price.

The Black Ghost also comes with a limited safety package, and advanced driver-assistance features such as forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control are not included.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Dodge Challenger?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,604 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.67% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 83.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $41,201, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Dodge Challenger's resale value?

The current average of $43,036 sits slightly above last year's $41,513.

That upward move suggests the market still values this final-year Challenger, especially as interest remains strong around its muscle-car identity and special-edition appeal. Because supply is not especially tight, resale strength will likely depend on condition, mileage, and trim rarity more than on the badge alone.

If you buy well and keep the car clean, the model’s final-year status can help support future demand. Rare versions and well-kept examples should be easier to move than heavily used or modified ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Dodge Challenger safe?

The 2023 Dodge Challenger earns favorable ratings only in two outdated frontal- and side-impact tests from IIHS, and NHTSA gives the car high marks but hasn’t updated its crash-test standards in over a decade.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

The Challenger’s safety equipment is limited, especially on the Black Ghost. It includes traction and stability control, a low-resolution reversing camera, rear parking sensors, automatic high-beam headlights, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

Forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control are unavailable on the SRT Hellcat Redeye and, by extension, the Black Ghost. That means you are relying more on your own attention than on driver-assistance tech, and the safety net is thinner than in many newer used cars.

Should I buy a 2023 Dodge Challenger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.67% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 model is the Challenger’s final year, and the summary highlights special “Last Call” editions plus the extreme 1,025-horsepower SRT Demon 170.

The bottom line: If you want the last and most emotionally compelling version of the Challenger, the 2023 is the one to target. If your priority is simply getting into a Challenger at the lowest possible price, a different year may be the better path, especially if you are willing to trade away some of the final-year cachet and special-edition appeal.
