Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — 4.8/5 is a strong user rating for the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD. The overview points to a heavy-duty truck that combines serious capability with a more modern, better-equipped cabin than older work-focused pickups, so you get a work-ready truck that still feels current inside. It also stands out for broad trim choices and useful trailering tech, which makes it appealing if you want capability without giving up everyday convenience. 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a truck built around serious capability, with a standard gas V8, an available Duramax turbodiesel, and a 10-speed automatic transmission. It also emphasizes useful equipment and trailering aids across the lineup, which points to a model designed to handle demanding use with confidence. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is the usual heavy-duty-truck tradeoff: you should expect wear to depend heavily on how hard the truck was worked.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, especially for signs of towing-heavy use, prior damage, or inconsistent maintenance. Put inspection priority on the truck’s condition, including the drivetrain, brakes, suspension, and trailering equipment, since those areas matter most on a heavy-duty pickup. Focus on how the truck was used and whether the cabin and hardware show the kind of wear you would expect from real work.

If you find a listing below $44,280, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $44,280 sits slightly below last year's $49,481.

That softer pricing can help you buy more truck for the money today, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices continue to ease. The Silverado 2500HD’s strong capability and broad appeal should still support demand, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment. Trucks with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $54,124, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $44,280 average.
• It adds a refreshed look and a new off-road trim.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2023 if you want the stronger value play and a well-equipped heavy-duty truck with plenty of inventory to compare. If you care more about the refresh and are willing to pay a premium, the 2024 is the better upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2023 is the smarter starting point.
