Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — 4.75/5 is a strong user rating for this truck. The 2023 Silverado 2500HD stands out as a heavy-duty pickup that blends serious capability with a much more modern cabin than older work trucks in this class. It can tow up to 20,000 pounds with a conventional hitch and 22,500 with a fifth-wheel setup, and it offers broad configuration choices along with useful trailering technology. If you want a heavy-duty truck that can handle demanding work while still feeling more modern inside, this model year fits that use case well. 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Silverado 2500HD is built around serious capability, with a fully boxed frame made from seven different types of steel and a structure Chevrolet says is 20% stiffer than before. Its strengths are clear in its towing ability, configuration flexibility, and well-equipped cabin. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is simply that this is a large, heavy-duty truck, so condition, maintenance history, and prior use matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report to confirm the truck has not been in a serious collision or used in a way that could affect towing hardware or frame condition. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the suspension, brakes, tires, and trailering equipment, since heavy-duty trucks often see demanding use. Focus on overall condition and signs of hard work, especially if you are considering a diesel or higher-mileage example.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,928 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.96% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $44,862, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $44,862 sits slightly below last year's $49,825.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you as a buyer today but may also mean future sellers need to price more competitively. Because heavy-duty trucks often hold demand when they are well maintained and properly equipped, condition and configuration will matter a lot when you eventually resell. Trucks with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.96% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $54,864, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $44,862 average.
• It adds a refreshed look and a new off-road trim.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter starting point because it combines strong capability with a lower average price and a healthy share of good deals. If you are willing to pay more for the newer model year and its refresh, the 2024 is the better secondary path for buyers who prioritize updated styling and a more competitive feature set.
