Used 2023 RAM 2500 for Sale nearDenver, CO

How much does the 2023 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 9.06% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,688 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable selection to compare.

Is the 2023 RAM 2500 a good car?

Generally — the 2023 RAM 2500 earns a 4.2/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating, which points to a truck that satisfies many owners while still leaving room for compromise. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its power, comfort, towing usefulness, technology, and luxury touches. The trade-offs are that the column shifter feels flimsy and entry and exit are difficult, while the turbodiesel engine option is expensive.

For you, that means this truck makes the most sense if you want a heavy-duty pickup that can handle utility work and still feel comfortable and well equipped. The market also shows 31.0% good or great deals, so there is some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2023 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.2/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable for towing and utility use, with many buyers describing it as a solid value for the work it does.

The expert notes reinforce that sense of durability by describing the truck as robust and capable, with a strong frame and hardware built for demanding use. The cost-effectiveness notes also frame it as a competitively priced heavy-duty Rebel relative to rivals, though the diesel upgrade is costly.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that higher-spec versions can be expensive to buy and maintain, so condition and service history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 RAM 2500?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are common but not guaranteed. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the truck’s steering feel, cabin wear, and any signs of hard use, especially if the truck was used for towing or off-road driving. Condition matters most on this model because the more capable versions can also be the most heavily worked.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Rebel’s aggressive appearance, 20-inch wheels, crew-cab layout, and 6-foot, 4-inch bed set it apart from the more stripped-down, work-focused feel you’d expect from a base heavy-duty truck. It also skips the Power Wagon’s graphics, 17-inch wheels, and integrated winch, so you should decide whether you want the Rebel’s cleaner look or a more extreme off-road setup.
• Powertrain: You get a standard 6.4-liter V8 with 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque, plus an available 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel inline-six with 370 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque. The diesel brings stronger efficiency and effortless torque, but it is a pricey upgrade.
• Safety package: Ram’s driver-assistance suite includes automatic high beams, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking including trailer-brake support, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. The truck also offers blind-spot cameras and a digital rearview mirror, though crash-test ratings don’t exist.
• Infotainment: The truck uses a 12-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM 360L, navigation, and an optional 17-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. The screen is bright and easy to read, but the surrounding gloss-black trim can create glare.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA does not provide fuel economy estimates for this heavy-duty truck, but the Cummins diesel showed 19.1 mpg in mostly highway driving, 16.1 mpg on a mountain route, and 14.7 mpg off-road in testing.

Which 2023 RAM 2500 trim should I buy?

The 2023 RAM 2500 is offered in 1 trim level: Rebel.

Here's the short version:

The Rebel is the clear choice if you want the 2500’s off-road hardware, upscale cabin feel, and strong towing ability in one package. It adds the aggressive styling, 20-inch wheels, off-road tires, locking rear differential, skid plates, and available diesel power that make it the most distinctive version in this year’s lineup.

Because there is only one trim level here, your decision is really about configuration and options rather than stepping up through a broader trim ladder. If you want the strongest mix of capability and comfort, this is the one to focus on.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,688 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.06% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $48,271, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $48,271 sits slightly below last year's $53,080.

That decline suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also mean future resale gains are more limited. If you plan to sell later, the softer pricing trend means you should pay close attention to purchase price and condition so you do not overpay upfront.

Strong owner satisfaction can still help support demand when it is time to sell. Trucks that are well regarded for power, comfort, and utility tend to stay attractive to used buyers, especially when they are clean and well maintained.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.2/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 RAM 2500 safe?

The 2023 RAM 2500 does not have crash-test ratings.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ram offers a broad driver-assistance suite on this truck, including automatic high beams, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking with trailer-brake support, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. The truck also adds blind-spot cameras and a digital rearview mirror for better visibility around the trailer.

The main caveat is that you do not get formal crash-test results to lean on, so you should place extra weight on the truck’s active safety tech and on how well the specific vehicle has been maintained and equipped.

Should I buy a 2023 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.2/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 update adds the Rebel as a response to rivals, along with strong off-road capability, a powerful turbodiesel option, and a spacious, comfortable cabin.

The bottom line: If you want this truck’s mix of capability, comfort, and updated tech, the 2023 is the right year to target. If your priority is simply the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2023 gives you a strong balance of features and market softness that can make it the smarter buy.
