Why it stands out
The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 stands out as a full-size pickup that tries to balance work-truck capability with the kind of technology and comfort buyers now expect from a daily driver. Its appeal starts with easy-to-use technology, powerful engine options, and tons of cabin space, which make it feel broad in purpose rather than narrowly focused on one kind of job. The truck also combines smart tech with stout available off-road kit, giving it a wider range of appeal than a basic utility pickup.
For 2023, the Silverado 1500 receives power upgrades for the optional Duramax diesel engine, and a new ZR2 Bison off-road trim is available as well. Those updates help keep it competitive in a crowded segment, especially for buyers who want more capability or a more specialized off-road setup. At the same time, it is not the most polished choice in the class: the ride can feel rough compared to rivals, the front-end styling is polarizing, and the steering can feel numb at times.

Its a beautiful looking truck, but a full size 1500 should never be an inline 4 cylinder.
