How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Malibu cost?

Prices have softened 7.78% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 7,056 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Malibu a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Chevrolet Malibu earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It stands out as a roomy, value-oriented midsize sedan with a comfortable cabin, straightforward features, and pricing that tends to undercut rivals like the Camry and Accord. For you, that means it makes the most sense if you want a practical family sedan that prioritizes space, ease of use, and value over flash or performance. 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Malibu reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Malibu benefits from later-generation improvements in refinement and reliability, and the overview describes it as a proven formula with a long-running reputation for being easy to live with. It was also a carry-over model, which usually helps keep the ownership experience familiar and predictable. For used buyers, that suggests lower drama over time if you choose a well-kept example and stay on top of routine maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Malibu?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report to confirm accident status, title status, and service records before you commit. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or incomplete maintenance documentation. Focus your condition check on the cabin, infotainment operation, and overall mechanical smoothness so you can separate a clean, well-kept Malibu from one that has simply been priced attractively.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Malibu?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 7,056 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.78% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 79.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,572, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Malibu's resale value?

The current average of $16,572 sits slightly below last year's $17,970.

That price movement suggests the Malibu has become more affordable in the used market, which can help you buy at a lower entry point today. For a future seller, the softer pricing means resale gains may be limited unless your car is especially clean, well maintained, and attractively equipped. If you buy carefully now, you can reduce the risk of overpaying and improve your odds of holding value better than the average example.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Malibu or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2023 Malibu is the right pick if you want a roomy, value-focused midsize sedan with strong owner satisfaction and a healthy used-car supply. If your priority is simply the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2023 is the better all-around choice when you want a balanced mix of value, availability, and confidence.
