Used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox for Sale nearPortland, OR

How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 5.51% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,670 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy number of options to compare.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

It remains a sensible compact crossover with a practical, affordable formula, and its ride quality and easy-to-use technology are clear strengths. It also gets a little extra power for 2023 and a more sophisticated braking system, which helps keep it competitive.

The trade-offs are straightforward: performance is fairly pedestrian, the transmission can be irritating, and road noise is a drawback.

For you, that means the Equinox makes the most sense if you want a straightforward, value-focused compact crossover rather than the most exciting one in the class.

The market looks reasonably favorable, with 37.7% of listings priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Equinox is built around a practical, easy-to-live-with formula, and its straightforward controls and comfortable ride support that reputation. It also benefits from a more sophisticated brake-by-wire system for 2023, which is a useful update for everyday drivability.

Its 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is the sole powertrain, and it delivers enough low-speed torque for around-town use. Chevrolet also says the engine gains five horsepower for 2023, and the model’s fuel economy is respectable for the class.

If you’re shopping used, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Equinox’s modest performance and older-feeling transmission may be more noticeable as mileage climbs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are not the same as guaranteed trouble-free ownership. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the transmission behavior, brake feel, and overall cabin condition, since those are the areas most likely to affect day-to-day satisfaction.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Equinox is offered in four trim levels: LS, LT, RS, and Premier. The base LS misses heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, while those features are standard on the RS and Premier and available on the LT.
• Powertrain: A 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is the sole powertrain option, and it gains five horsepower for 2023. It has enough torque for low-speed driving, but acceleration is still modest, and the six-speed automatic can feel busy.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection and braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure assistance, and automatic high beams. Chevrolet does not offer genuine level two autonomous driving technology.
• Infotainment: The LS, LT, and RS use a 7-inch touchscreen, while the Premier gets an 8-inch screen. All trims include wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, plus Bluetooth connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: AWD models should return 24 mpg city, 30 highway, and 26 combined, while FWD models should return 26 city, 31 highway, and 28 combined.

Which 2023 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 4 trim levels: LS, LT, RS, and Premier.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, but it leaves out some comfort features that matter in daily use, including heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the lineup and can live without those extras.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it opens the door to more comfort equipment, including available heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. It’s the trim to target if you want a balanced mix of price and features.
• RS: This trim adds a sportier look and includes heated front seats and a heated steering wheel as standard equipment. It suits you if you want more style and a richer feature set without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• Premier: This is the most upscale version, with the 8-inch touchscreen and standard heated front seats and heated steering wheel. It’s the right pick if you want the most complete Equinox experience.

The safety package includes standard automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection and braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure assistance, and automatic high beams across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Equinox?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,670 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.51% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,255, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $21,255 sits slightly below last year's $22,494.

That softer pricing suggests the Equinox has become more attractive to used buyers, which can help support demand in the near term. For a future seller, that means you may not see rapid appreciation, but you can still benefit from a model that remains popular and broadly appealing.

Its practical layout, strong value proposition, and easy-to-use tech should help it stay relevant with shoppers looking for a straightforward compact crossover. The current price trend also gives you a clearer picture of where the market is settling, which can help you price a future sale more realistically.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox safe?

The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox earns five-star ratings from NHTSA, but it scored a Poor rating in the IIHS moderate overlap front crash test and a Marginal score in the side-impact crash test.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection and braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure assistance, and automatic high beams. Chevrolet does not offer genuine level two autonomous driving technology.

The IIHS results are the main caveat here, especially if crash-test performance is a top priority for you.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a little extra power, a more sophisticated braking system, and three new paint colors.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $18,975, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $21,255 average.
• It adds revised styling and wireless smartphone integration.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced pick, the 2023 is the stronger choice because it brings useful updates and still sits in a buyer-friendly price range. If your priority is saving money above all else, the 2022 is the cheaper path and still delivers the core Equinox formula.
