Used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado for Sale nearTrenton, NJ

How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado cost?

Prices have softened 6.62% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,753 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of trucks to compare by trim, mileage, and condition.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

It’s a mixed but appealing choice if you want a midsize truck with strong capability and modern tech, even though a few drawbacks are hard to ignore. The Colorado earns a 3/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The Colorado’s appeal starts with its practical setup: it comes only as a crew-cab, short-bed truck, and it delivers strong payload and towing numbers for the class. It also looks sharp, and the base trim still includes modern instrumentation, infotainment, connectivity, and safety tech.

The trade-offs are real, though. The interior materials feel cheap, fuel economy is poor, and the forward collision warning system can be aggravating enough to become a daily annoyance.

For shoppers who want a truck that feels current and capable rather than stripped-down, the Colorado fits that brief well. With 36.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s enough market activity to make comparison shopping worthwhile.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

The Colorado’s reliability story is tied more to its design and feature execution than to any broad mechanical red flag in the provided data. It uses a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine across the lineup, and the truck is described as robustly engineered with strong capability.

The performance notes point to a powertrain that delivers plenty of power, with the Trail Boss test truck described as providing satisfyingly swift acceleration. The cost-effectiveness notes also suggest the truck’s value equation is attractive up front, even if fuel use can erode that advantage over time.

If you’re shopping used, the biggest long-term ownership risk is that a frustrating safety system or poor fuel economy could make the truck less satisfying to live with over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the report carefully, because a clean listing percentage doesn’t replace a proper history review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the truck’s electronics, driver-assistance behavior, and cabin condition, since those are the areas most likely to affect day-to-day ownership satisfaction.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Work Truck trim gets modern instrumentation, infotainment, connectivity, and safety tech, but the WT and LT have a more basic look and feel than the higher trims. The LT, Z71, and ZR2 get nicer cabins, while the Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2 add more off-road-oriented hardware and capability.
• Powertrain: Every 2023 Colorado uses a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine. WT and LT models make 237 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, while Trail Boss and Z71 models make 310 horsepower and 391 pound-feet; ZR2 models keep 310 horsepower but increase torque to 430 pound-feet. An eight-speed automatic is standard.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Optional upgrades include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with active steering assist, rear cross-traffic and pedestrian alert with automatic braking, and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: Every Colorado gets an 11.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google Built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM, OnStar, Chevrolet connected services, and Wi-Fi hotspot access. Digital instrumentation is standard, with an 8-inch display on most trims and an 11-inch display on the ZR2.
• Fuel efficiency: The Trail Boss test truck returned 19 mpg on the official EPA rating and averaged 17 mpg in testing.

Which 2023 Chevrolet Colorado trim should I buy?

The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in 5 trim levels: WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the entry point, but it still gets the Colorado’s modern digital instrumentation and 11.3-inch touchscreen. It makes the most sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the redesigned truck and don’t need the extra hardware or appearance upgrades found higher up.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more polished everyday feel while still keeping the Colorado’s core tech and available 2WD or 4WD flexibility. It’s the trim to focus on if you want a balanced mix of price, equipment, and usability.
• Trail Boss: This trim leans into off-road capability with a 2-inch suspension lift, standard 4WD, all-terrain tires, and hill descent control. It’s the right pick if you want a more rugged Colorado without jumping all the way to the top performance model.
• Z71: This trim keeps the stronger 310-horsepower version of the turbocharged engine and adds a more upscale, capable setup than the lower trims. It suits you if you want a well-equipped Colorado with more power and a more premium feel.
• ZR2: This is the most capable off-road version, with a 3-inch lift, exclusive Multimatic DSSV dampers, mud-terrain tires, and the most torque in the lineup. Choose it if off-road performance matters more to you than price or everyday value.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard, while adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic and pedestrian alert with automatic braking, and rear parking sensors are optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado?

This is a moderate, selective-buyer market: there’s enough inventory and enough deal activity to make shopping worthwhile, but you should still compare carefully.

• Deal availability: 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,753 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.62% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,745, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado's resale value?

The current average of $33,494 sits slightly below last year's $35,870.

That decline suggests the Colorado has become more affordable for used buyers, which can help demand from shoppers who were priced out before. For a future seller, it means you should expect a softer resale environment than last year’s market.

The good news is that the truck still has strong appeal thanks to its capability and modern equipment. If you keep mileage reasonable and the truck is in clean condition, you’ll be in a better position to protect value when it’s time to sell.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado safe?

The 2023 Colorado earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard, and it includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. OnStar adds SOS emergency calling and automatic crash notification, while Teen Driver and Buckle to Drive add family-focused safety tools.

The main caveat is the forward collision warning system, which is described as overly sensitive and prone to false alerts. That issue is serious enough that it can affect everyday driving comfort, especially if the gap setting isn’t adjusted carefully.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.62% compared with last year.
• It combines strong capability with modern tech in a redesigned package.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $36,560, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $33,494 average.
• It leans harder into a more modern lifestyle-truck formula.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter starting point because it already delivers the Colorado’s core strengths at a lower average price. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer take on the truck’s modernized direction, the 2024 is the alternative to compare.
