Is the 2023 Chevrolet Blazer a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 5/5 user-rated SUV with an expert score of 7.2/10. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the sporty design, comfort, roomy interior, quiet ride, and overall value. That lines up well with the Blazer’s use case as a two-row midsize crossover that leans more toward on-road comfort and style than rugged utility. The main trade-offs are fairly pedestrian performance and poor fuel economy, and advanced safety features are not standard.

With 36.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Blazer reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise centered on comfort, quietness, and overall value over time. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Blazer is built for pavement-focused driving and delivers a well-sorted, mainstream ownership experience rather than a complicated one. Chevy’s three-year, 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty add some reassurance for used buyers.

For a used purchase, the main long-term risk is making sure the vehicle was maintained well, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage V6 model.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Blazer?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free status alone does not tell you how a vehicle was maintained or repaired. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on tires, brakes, suspension, electronics, and any signs of uneven wear or prior bodywork. Since the Blazer is a comfort- and tech-oriented crossover, condition matters most in the cabin, infotainment, and driver-assistance systems.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes 2LT, 3LT, Premier, and RS. The base-level setup is lighter on equipment, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience features such as leather upholstery, built-in navigation, and an eight-speaker Bose audio system.
• Powertrain: Most models use a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 228 horsepower, while the RS gets a 3.6-liter V6 with 308 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is optional, and the AWD system must be engaged manually.
• Safety package: The standard Chevy Safety Assist Package includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian braking, a following distance indicator, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams. Adaptive cruise control is available on the 2LT and 3LT, and other options include blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear park assist, a 360-degree camera system, rear camera mirror, a Safety Alert vibrating driver seat, and Teen Driver monitoring.
• Infotainment: A 10.2-inch touchscreen is standard, wireless device charging is available on all trim levels, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. RS and Premier add an 8-inch digital instrument display, built-in navigation, and an eight-speaker Bose audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: Four-cylinder base models are rated at 25 mpg combined, with 22 mpg city and 29 mpg highway in FWD form. V6 models are rated at 22 mpg combined, with 19 mpg city and 27 mpg highway in FWD form.

Which 2023 Chevrolet Blazer trim should I buy?

The 2023 Chevrolet Blazer is offered in 4 trim levels: 2LT, 3LT, Premier, RS.

Here's the short version:

• 2LT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Blazer experience with the standard turbo-four, the new 10.2-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the standard safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the model and can live without the extra comfort and convenience features found higher up.
• 3LT: This trim is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it opens the door to more available equipment, including the optional V6 and more advanced safety and convenience features. If you want a better-balanced Blazer without jumping all the way to the top trims, this is the one to focus on.
• Premier: This trim leans into comfort and tech, with features such as built-in navigation, the Bose audio system, and the 8-inch digital instrument display. It suits you best if you want a more upscale daily driver and are willing to pay for it.
• RS: This is the most distinctive trim, with the V6 standard and a sportier presentation inside and out. It’s the right pick if you want the strongest engine and the most expressive styling, but it’s not the most value-focused route.

Adaptive cruise control is available on the 2LT and 3LT, while other safety features remain optional rather than standard across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Blazer?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,668 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.59% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,677, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Blazer's resale value?

The current average of $26,677 sits slightly below last year's $27,961.

That price movement suggests the Blazer has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you choose a well-equipped trim with strong demand, you may have a better chance of holding value than if you overpay for a lightly equipped example. The current market also gives you a clearer benchmark for negotiating, since the year-round range is relatively tight.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Blazer safe?

The 2023 Chevrolet Blazer earns a Good rating from IIHS and a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests and four-star ratings in rollover testing.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard Chevy Safety Assist Package includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian braking, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, a following distance indicator, and automatic high beams. Adaptive cruise control is available on the 2LT and 3LT, while blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear park assist, a 360-degree camera system, rear camera mirror, a Safety Alert vibrating driver seat, and Teen Driver monitoring are available options.

One caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you’ll want to check the exact equipment on any used example you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Blazer or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• For 2023, the Blazer adds a new 10.2-inch touchscreen and available wireless charging across the lineup.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $23,117, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $26,677 average.
• It emphasizes sporty styling and practical everyday usefulness.

The bottom line: If you want the better-equipped and more current version, the 2023 is the stronger pick. If your priority is saving money and you’re comfortable giving up some of the newer tech and updates, the 2022 is the value-oriented alternative.
