Used 2023 BMW X7 for Sale nearColorado Springs, CO

How much does the 2023 BMW X7 cost?

Prices have softened 17.12% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,544 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 BMW X7 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 BMW X7 earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 8/10.

The X7’s appeal is rooted in its large luxury-SUV mission: you get strong performance, a comfortable ride, and a quiet cabin in a premium three-row package. The 2023 refresh adds new front-end styling and the latest iDrive system, which modernizes the cabin but also introduces controls that can feel less intuitive than before.

The main trade-offs are the potentially polarizing design and the unintuitive technology. If you want a relaxed, substantial luxury SUV and you’re willing to spend time learning the interface, the X7 fits that brief well.

The market shows 37.8% of listings as good or great deals, so there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 BMW X7 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The X7 is presented as a well-built, refined luxury SUV with a calm driving character, and the expert review notes that its safety and convenience systems performed as they should during testing. The performance side also supports confidence: the base six-cylinder is described as more than adequate for most drivers, while the V8 delivers potent acceleration.

The cost-effectiveness notes also point to the six-cylinder xDrive40i as the value leader, which matters if you want a lower-cost path into ownership. For used buyers, the biggest long-term risk is that the refreshed technology and polarizing design may age less gracefully than the underlying mechanical package.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 BMW X7?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate and prioritize a careful inspection of the cabin electronics, since the refreshed interface is a major part of this model year’s identity. Focus on how the controls respond, whether the screen and menus behave consistently, and whether the vehicle’s condition matches its premium positioning.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Design Pure Excellence model uses chrome exterior trim, while the M Sport swaps in a darker finish. If you want the more upscale or more aggressive look, compare both in person because the styling change is a major part of the ownership experience.
• Powertrain: The xDrive40i uses a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine with a 48-volt mild hybrid system, while the M60i upgrades to a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with a similar hybrid setup. The six-cylinder is the value choice, while the V8 is for you if you want stronger acceleration.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane departure warning, adaptive headlights, front and rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams. The M60i adds a surround-view camera system, and options include adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, forward cross-traffic alerts, a semi-automated parking function, and highway driving assist.
• Infotainment: The 2023 X7 uses the latest iDrive system with a curved display setup. It handles basic tasks easily, but deeper functions can require more menu digging, and many physical buttons have been removed.
• Fuel efficiency: The xDrive40i is estimated at 22 mpg combined, while the M60i is estimated at 18 mpg combined.

Which 2023 BMW X7 trim should I buy?

The 2023 BMW X7 is offered in 2 trim levels: xDrive40i and M60i.

Here's the short version:

• xDrive40i: This is the best-value trim. It gives you the 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine with 48-volt mild hybrid assistance, and it is the value leader in the lineup. You also get the core luxury-SUV experience with the same calm, refined character that defines the X7.
• M60i: This is the choice if you want the strongest performance in the lineup. It upgrades to the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, adds a surround-view camera system, and is the better fit if you want the most powerful and most fully equipped version.

The M60i trim adds a surround-view camera system, while adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, forward cross-traffic alerts, a semi-automated parking function, and highway driving assist are available options.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 BMW X7?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,544 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.12% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $53,450, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 BMW X7's resale value?

The current average of $53,450 sits slightly below last year's $64,492.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may also mean less upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key question is whether the X7’s premium image and strong performance can offset the softer pricing trend.

The model’s broad appeal should still support demand, especially for shoppers who want a large luxury SUV with a quiet cabin and strong power. But the refreshed styling and more complicated technology may make some buyers more selective, which can affect how quickly a used example moves later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 BMW X7 safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane departure warning, adaptive headlights, front and rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams. The M60i trim adds a surround-view camera system, and options include adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, forward cross-traffic alerts, a semi-automated parking function, and highway driving assist.

The expert review also notes that these systems performed as they should, with no annoying false alarms or unpredictable responses. The main caveat is that some of the more advanced driver-assistance features are not standard on every trim, so you should confirm the exact equipment on the vehicle you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2023 BMW X7 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 refresh brings new front-end styling and the latest iDrive infotainment system, which makes this year feel more modern than the prior model.

The bottom line: If you want the newest look and updated tech, the 2023 is the right target, especially if you can find one near the low end of the price range. If you’re more price-sensitive and want to maximize value, shop carefully and compare listings closely, since the market still offers a meaningful share of good or great deals.
