Tech is strong, and it includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen running BMW’s iDrive 8 system. The interface offers responsive menus and a simplified design that reduces distraction while driving. Users can interact with the system via touch, voice, gestures, or rotary dial, and there are few tasks that require more than a tap or two to accomplish. Standard driver-assistance features include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, forward-collision warnings, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warnings, and lane-keep assist. The Cadillac is its most direct competition, with a raging supercharged V8 and an available manual transmission.
