How much does the 2022 Volvo S60 cost?

Is the 2022 Volvo S60 a good car?

The 2022 Volvo S60 stands out as a compact luxury sedan that blends Scandinavian style, strong safety credentials, and a cabin that puts comfort first. Volvo’s top-down design approach gave even base models a panoramic moonroof and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, while the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 9-inch tablet-style touchscreen helped the interior feel modern and easy to use. The seats are a major part of the appeal, and the optional Contour seats borrowed from the flagship S90 are a notable highlight.

For shoppers who want a stylish, comfortable sedan with a distinctive Volvo feel and a strong safety story, the 2022 Volvo S60 remains an appealing choice. 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Volvo S60 reliable?

The 2022 Volvo S60’s appeal is reinforced by its standard safety equipment and comfortable cabin. Every S60 came with Volvo’s City Safety collision avoidance system, and the model earned IIHS Top Safety Pick+ recognition in both 2021 and 2022.

The 2022 model year also sits within the group of T8 PHEV years that can be problematic, with the hybrid system described as extremely complex and prone to teething issues that may lead to costly repairs. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is higher if you’re considering a hybrid version without a thorough inspection and service-history review.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Volvo S60?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection that checks for signs of prior damage, uneven wear, and any issues tied to the hybrid system if you’re shopping a Recharge model. Pay close attention to overall condition, because a clean-looking listing can still hide expensive repair risk if maintenance records are thin.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Volvo S60?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 246 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.60% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,977, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Volvo S60's resale value?

The current average of $23,751 sits slightly below last year's $25,987.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to help you buy more selectively today. If you plan to sell later, the softer trend means your resale value may not hold as firmly as it did a year ago, especially if mileage and condition are average. A well-kept example with strong records should still be easier to move than one with questionable history or visible wear.

Should I buy a 2022 Volvo S60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.60% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2022 Volvo S60 makes sense if you want the updated mild-hybrid setup, a comfortable cabin, and a strong safety story at a price that has eased from last year. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2021 model year may be worth a look as a lower-cost alternative, but the 2022 is the better fit if you want the newer setup and can find a clean, well-priced example.
