How much does the 2022 Toyota Prius cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 553 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Toyota Prius a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Toyota Prius earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its impressive fuel economy, comfortable ride, and practical everyday usefulness. It is especially appealing if you want a hybrid that is easy to live with, efficient for commuting, and focused on saving fuel rather than delivering excitement. With 36.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Toyota Prius reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes reliability, dependability, and a trouble-free ownership experience, with many drivers describing it as a car they can count on for the long term. That said, used-hybrid ownership can still bring higher repair risk than a simpler gas-only car, so a careful inspection matters. For you, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the hybrid system and overall condition are sound before you buy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Toyota Prius?

At 74.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether the car has any accident, title, or structural damage records. Put inspection priority on the hybrid system, brakes, tires, and overall maintenance history, since those areas matter most on a used hybrid. You should also focus on condition consistency across the exterior, interior, and service records so you can separate a clean, well-kept car from one that has been repaired or neglected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota Prius?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively without expecting deep discounts everywhere.

• Deal availability: 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 553 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 74.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,989, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota Prius's resale value?

The current average of $22,400 sits slightly below last year's $22,412.

That small year-over-year change suggests the market has been stable, which is helpful if you plan to resell later. A steady price pattern can make it easier to estimate future value because the model is not swinging sharply up or down. For you, that means the Prius looks like a relatively predictable ownership choice from a depreciation standpoint.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Prius or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,107, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $22,400 average.
• It emphasizes efficiency, reliability, and low-hassle practicality.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $27,473, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $22,400 average.
• It adds sharper styling and more power.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, satisfaction, and market stability, the 2022 is the primary pick. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2021 is the better value-oriented alternative, while the 2023 makes sense if you want the newer design and are willing to pay more.
