Used 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross for Sale nearNewark, NJ

How much does the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross cost?

Prices have softened 4.75% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 860 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise its surprising power, excellent ride comfort, and spacious interior, and many also appreciate the all-wheel drive for winter driving. On the other hand, the expert test drive notes fairly pedestrian performance and uncomfortable seats. For you, that means the Corolla Cross makes the most sense if you want a practical, approachable crossover that leans on familiarity and utility rather than excitement. It also fits shoppers who want a compact SUV take on the Corolla nameplate without moving up to something larger.

Good and great deals account for 36.2% of listings, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a generally positive experience, with praise for its dependable feel, surprising power, and trouble-free ownership impressions. The expert drive notes that the Corolla Cross shares Toyota’s TNGA platform and powertrain architecture with other Corolla models, and Toyota includes free scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles, which helps reduce early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been cared for properly, since comfort and drivability concerns can matter more as mileage adds up.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free status does not replace a proper inspection. Pay close attention to seat condition, interior wear, and how the vehicle drives, since the test-drive notes point to comfort and refinement trade-offs. It also makes sense to compare trims closely, because equipment changes meaningfully as you move up the lineup.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Base L models get 17-inch steel wheels and a 7-inch touchscreen, while LE models add 17-inch alloy wheels, an 8-inch touchscreen, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a moonroof as an extra-cost option. XLE models add 18-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, fog lights, SofTex leatherette upholstery, and a more upscale feel.
• Powertrain: Every model uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 169 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT. The transmission has an actual first gear for better initial response, and AWD is available if you want extra traction.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, traffic-sign recognition, and Lane Tracing Assist. LE models add blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, while XLE models add rear automatic braking and front and rear park assist with automatic braking.
• Infotainment: The base model gets a 7-inch touchscreen, while LE and XLE models get an 8-inch screen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and wireless charging plus a third USB port arrive on LE and above.
• Fuel efficiency: Toyota expects 33 mpg combined with FWD and 30 mpg combined with AWD.

Which 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross trim should I buy?

The 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross is offered in 3 trim levels: L, LE, and XLE.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Corolla Cross experience at the lowest price. You get the standard safety suite, a 7-inch touchscreen, and the same engine as the higher trims, so it makes sense if you want the most affordable way into the model.
• LE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the 8-inch touchscreen, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, wireless charging, and a rear USB port. If you want the best balance of price and equipment, this is the one to focus on.
• XLE: This is the most upscale version, with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, fog lights, SofTex upholstery, rear automatic braking, and front and rear park assist with automatic braking. Choose this if you want the most comfort and convenience features.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard across the lineup, while LE and XLE add extra driver-assistance features.

What is the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross's resale value?

The current average of $23,512 sits slightly below last year's $24,685.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point. If you plan to sell later, the current trend means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment should hold up better than rougher ones, especially if they have strong service history and clean records.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 model stands out for combining Corolla familiarity with crossover utility, standard all-wheel drive availability, and easy-to-use technology.

The bottom line: If you want the Corolla Cross with the original formula and a softer used-car price, the 2022 is a sensible choice. If you’re shopping mainly on value, you can focus on clean, well-priced examples and prioritize the LE trim for the best mix of features and cost. If you want the newest tech and safety updates, a later model year may be worth considering, but the 2022 still makes a strong case as a practical, approachable compact SUV.
