Used 2022 Mazda CX-30 for Sale nearNewark, NJ

How much does the 2022 Mazda CX-30 cost?

Prices have softened 3.05% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,101 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Mazda CX-30 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Mazda CX-30 earns a 4.7/5 user rating and an 8.0/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its performance, stylish design, and spacious interior, and many also like the quiet ride and powerful engine. The CX-30’s upscale cabin and engaging driving character fit well if you want a small crossover that feels more premium than many rivals.

The trade-offs are the underwhelming base engine and the confusing infotainment system. That means you may like it most if you value refinement, style, and driving enjoyment more than simple controls or maximum punch from the entry-level setup.

The CX-30 is especially appealing if you want a subcompact SUV with a more upscale feel and standard advanced safety features. Good and great deals account for 38.6% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Mazda CX-30 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise centered on performance, style, and a cabin that feels solid and satisfying over time. The expert evaluation also emphasizes Mazda’s refined ride and higher-quality interior, which supports the impression of a well-built vehicle you can count on.

The CX-30 also comes with a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, which helps reduce early ownership risk. For used buyers, the main long-term concern is making sure any example you consider has been maintained well and doesn’t show signs of the electrical or visibility issues some owners mention.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mazda CX-30?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on every candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing multiple trims or higher-mileage examples. Focus on cabin condition, infotainment operation, and whether the vehicle’s equipment matches the trim level you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 2.5 S starts with standard all-wheel drive, an 8.8-inch infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an eight-speaker stereo, while higher trims add features like synthetic leather, a power sunroof, heated front seats, a power liftgate, a head-up display, and full leather upholstery. The base trim is the one most likely to feel light on convenience features.
• Powertrain: The base 2.5-liter four-cylinder makes 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, while the turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder is rated at 227 hp and 310 lb-ft on 87 octane fuel, or 250 hp and 320 lb-ft on 93 octane fuel. The turbo adds stronger acceleration, but the base engine is the one most likely to feel underwhelming.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, rain-sensing wipers, and adaptive cruise control. Higher trims can add blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic-sign recognition, front-and-rear parking sensors, and reverse automatic emergency braking.
• Infotainment: The CX-30 uses an 8.8-inch screen controlled by a rotary dial rather than touch input, and it supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system is also described as confusing and distracting, so make sure you’re comfortable with it before you buy.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine returns 24 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 26 mpg combined, while the turbo engine returns 22 mpg city, 30 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined. In testing, the CX-30 averaged 24.3 mpg.

Which 2022 Mazda CX-30 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mazda CX-30 is offered in 7 trim levels: 2.5 S, 2.5 S Select, 2.5 S Preferred, 2.5 S Premium, Turbo, Turbo Premium, and Turbo Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• 2.5 S: This is the entry point, and it already gives you standard all-wheel drive, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, an 8.8-inch screen, and a strong safety baseline. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the CX-30, but it’s the most stripped-down choice.
• 2.5 S Select: This trim adds useful everyday upgrades like dual-zone automatic climate control, rear climate vents, synthetic leather upholstery, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. It looks like the best-value trim because it adds comfort and polish without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• 2.5 S Preferred: This one builds on the Select with a power sunroof, an eight-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats, and mirrors that tilt down in reverse. Choose it if you want a more comfortable daily driver with a few premium touches.
• 2.5 S Premium: This trim adds a power rear liftgate, paddle shifters, full leather upholstery, a head-up display, adaptive headlights, and SiriusXM. It suits you if you want the most upscale feel without moving to the turbo models.
• Turbo: This is the trim to consider if stronger acceleration matters most, since it brings the turbocharged engine. It’s the right pick if you care more about performance than extra luxury features.
• Turbo Premium: This trim layers in more equipment on top of the turbo powertrain and mirrors the equipment progression of the non-turbo Premium. It’s a good fit if you want the stronger engine and a richer feature set.
• Turbo Premium Plus: This is the most fully equipped version, adding front-and-rear parking sensors and additional driver-assistance features. It makes the most sense if you want the most complete CX-30 experience and are willing to pay for it.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, but some of the more advanced driver-assistance features are reserved for higher trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mazda CX-30?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,101 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.05% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,459, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mazda CX-30's resale value?

The current average of $22,126 sits slightly below last year's $22,822.

That softer pricing trend suggests the CX-30 is currently more buyer-friendly than it was a year ago, which can help you if you’re shopping now. For a future seller, it means you should expect some pressure on resale if market conditions stay similar.

Even so, the CX-30’s upscale feel, strong owner satisfaction, and broad appeal in the subcompact SUV class should help support demand. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment are likely to hold up better than bare-bones trims.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Mazda CX-30 safe?

The 2022 Mazda CX-30 earns the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, rain-sensing wipers, and adaptive cruise control. Higher trims can add blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic-sign recognition, front-and-rear parking sensors, and reverse automatic emergency braking.

One caveat is that some of the more advanced driver-assistance features are not standard on every trim, so you should confirm the exact equipment on any used example you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2022 Mazda CX-30 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.05% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines upscale interior design with standard advanced safety features and engaging driving dynamics.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $19,270, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $22,126 average.
• It blends mainstream practicality with a more premium feel.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $23,434, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $22,126 average.
• It adds a more powerful base engine and improved side-impact collision protection.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the sweet spot if you want the CX-30’s upscale cabin, strong safety credentials, and engaging road manners without paying newer-model pricing. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better value play; if you want the newer updates and can spend more, the 2023 is worth a look.
