Used 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander for Sale near Connecticut

How much does the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander cost?

Prices have softened 11.65% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,129 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

Drivers consistently praise the smooth drive, advanced features, and stylish look. The Outlander also stands out for its comfortable ride and strong warranty, which makes it appealing if you want an SUV that feels well equipped and pleasant to live with.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is sluggish, the third row is cramped, and voice recognition does not work great at speed. That means it fits you best if you value comfort, features, and everyday usability more than quick acceleration or frequent third-row use.

There are 36.2% good or great deals in the market, which suggests you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe the Outlander as smooth, advanced, and stylish, and those themes point to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use. The strong warranty also supports confidence if you plan to keep the SUV for a while.

The expert review also emphasizes the Outlander’s generous warranty coverage and free roadside assistance, which help reduce ownership stress. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about durability and more about whether you’ll be satisfied with its sluggish performance and cramped third row over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a thorough inspection of the drivetrain, suspension, and interior condition. Pay close attention to how the SUV accelerates, rides, and handles, since those are the areas most likely to shape your ownership experience.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Outlander is offered in ES, SE, SE Launch Edition, SEL, and SEL Launch Edition trim levels. The higher trims add more upscale equipment, and the Touring Package on SEL brings premium semi-aniline leather, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, a premium sound system, rear-window sunshades, and a panoramic glass sunroof. Base trims are more likely to leave you without those luxury touches.
• Powertrain: The Outlander uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 181 horsepower and a CVT, with front-wheel drive standard and S-AWC all-wheel drive available. It also offers Eco, Normal, Tarmac, Gravel, Snow, and Mud driving modes, but the powertrain is still described as sluggish and short on reserve power.
• Safety package: Mi-Pilot Assist is the named driver-assistance system, and it works with commendable refinement, smoothness, and accuracy. Standard driver-assist tech also includes forward collision avoidance, safe reversing, lane-keeping assistance, and blind-spot warning. The steering-assistance and lane-departure systems can feel intrusive when Mi-Pilot Assist is not engaged.
• Infotainment: The available 9-inch touchscreen includes stereo volume and tuning knobs, wireless Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto, and a free two-year subscription to Mitsubishi Connect Safeguard and Remote services. Wireless smartphone charging is standard with the 9-inch Smartphone-link system.
• Fuel efficiency: The AWD model returned 24.9 mpg on the test route, and the official fuel-economy rating for AWD models is 26 mpg.

Which 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander is offered in 5 trim levels: ES, SE, SE Launch Edition, SEL, and SEL Launch Edition.

Here's the short version:

• ES: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the redesigned Outlander. It gives you the core package, but you’ll miss the richer cabin materials and added convenience features that make the higher trims more appealing.
• SE: This is the trim to target if you want the best balance of equipment and value. It adds meaningful upgrades over ES without pushing you all the way to the pricier upper trims, making it the most sensible choice for many shoppers.
• SE Launch Edition: Choose this if you want SE equipment with a more special-edition feel. It sits above SE in the lineup, so you should expect a higher price for the added exclusivity.
• SEL: This is the better pick if you want the Outlander to feel genuinely upscale. It unlocks the more premium interior presentation and is the trim used for the Touring Package, which adds the most desirable comfort and tech upgrades.
• SEL Launch Edition: Pick this if you want the SEL experience with added launch-edition distinction. It makes the most sense if you’re already shopping near the top of the range and want the fullest feature set.

Mi-Pilot Assist is the standout safety and driver-assistance feature to look for, and it’s especially worth prioritizing if you want the most refined version of the Outlander’s safety tech.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,129 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.65% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 81.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,091, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander's resale value?

The current average of $19,091 sits slightly below last year's $21,607.

That decline suggests the Outlander has become more affordable for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may face a softer pricing environment than owners saw a year ago. If you buy well now, you may benefit from the lower entry price, but resale gains are likely to depend on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.

The model’s strong feature content and broad appeal should help support demand, especially for shoppers who want comfort and technology over sporty performance. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander safe?

The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Mi-Pilot Assist is the named driver-assistance suite, and it works with commendable refinement, smoothness, and accuracy. Standard driver-assist tech also includes forward collision avoidance, safe reversing, lane-keeping assistance, and blind-spot warning.

One caveat is that the steering-assistance and lane-departure systems can feel intrusive when Mi-Pilot Assist is not active, and you have to use the touchscreen menu to turn them off. That makes the system effective when used as intended, but a little less convenient in everyday driving.

Should I buy a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 Outlander is a redesigned SUV that feels more modern and relevant than Mitsubishi’s recent efforts, with standout technology, a comfortable ride, and a strong warranty.

The bottom line: The 2022 Outlander makes the most sense if you want the redesigned version with strong tech, comfort, and warranty coverage at a softened used-car price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, this year is attractive because values have eased and inventory is healthy, but you should still prioritize a test drive to make sure the driving dynamics work for you.
