Used 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS for SaleNationwide

How much does the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS cost?

Prices have softened 14.80% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 801 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Technology.

Mercedes positions it as the electric equivalent of its flagship S-Class sedan, and the design and cabin presentation back that up with a sleek exterior, a luxurious interior, and an elaborate infotainment setup. It also brings impressive electric range, great handling, and strong technology, which makes it especially appealing if you want a luxury EV that feels substantial and advanced.

The trade-offs are a voice assistant that is slow to respond and some buttons that are poorly positioned. That means you get a highly polished luxury EV, but you should still expect a few usability quirks in daily use.

38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Mercedes gives the EQS a four-year, 50,000-mile new vehicle warranty and a 10-year, 155,000-mile battery warranty, which is a meaningful ownership cushion for a used EV. The car is also built around a comfort-first, luxury-oriented setup, with standard air suspension and rear-wheel steering contributing to a refined driving experience.

The performance side is tuned for smooth, confident driving rather than drama, and the regenerative braking system is designed to feel familiar if you are coming from a gas car. Mercedes also includes an “intelligent” regenerative braking setting that can adapt to traffic ahead, which adds some everyday usability.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability than about how well the car’s electronics, charging behavior, and luxury features have aged under real-world use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, confirm the car’s charging habits, and prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin electronics and driver-assistance features. On a used luxury EV like this, condition matters not just for cosmetics but also for how well the technology and battery systems have been maintained.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The EQS lineup includes Premium, Exclusive, and Pinnacle trims, and the biggest gap at the lower end is that some desirable convenience and luxury features are reserved for higher trims. If you want the most complete experience, pay close attention to which equipment is standard versus optional.
• Powertrain: The EQS 450+ uses a single rear motor with rear-wheel drive, while the EQS 580 uses dual motors and all-wheel drive. The 450+ is the efficiency-focused choice, while the 580 adds more power and traction.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance features include adaptive cruise control with steering assist, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, a driver-attention monitor, parking assist, and a surround-view camera system. The safety content does not call out trim-specific gaps for these features.
• Infotainment: The Hyperscreen setup combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 17.7-inch main touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch front-passenger screen. All models also get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the system supports over-the-air updates.
• Range & charging: The EQS 450+ is rated at 350 miles of range, while the EQS 580 is rated at 340 miles. The battery is 107.8 kWh, and DC fast charging can take the battery from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes.
• Battery health: Ask for battery state-of-health information, review charging history, and make sure the car has not spent its life relying only on frequent DC fast charging. You also want to confirm how much of the battery warranty remains, since that coverage is a major part of the ownership equation on a used EV.

Which 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS is offered in 6 trim levels: EQS 450+ Premium, EQS 450+ Exclusive, EQS 450+ Pinnacle, EQS 580 Premium, EQS 580 Exclusive, EQS 580 Pinnacle.

Here's the short version:

• EQS 450+ Premium: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core EQS experience with the single-motor setup, strong range, and a long list of standard luxury and tech features. It makes sense if you want the most affordable way into the model, but you should know that some high-end equipment still costs extra.
• EQS 450+ Exclusive: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it unlocks important comfort and convenience upgrades that the base trim does not include. If you want the EQS to feel properly flagship-like without moving all the way up the range, this is the trim to focus on.
• EQS 450+ Pinnacle: Choose this if you want the most rear-seat-focused luxury in the 450+ lineup, since it adds more convenience features for passengers. It is the right pick if you care most about a fully loaded cabin experience.
• EQS 580 Premium: This is the performance-oriented starting point, with dual motors and all-wheel drive. It suits you if traction and stronger acceleration matter more than maximizing range.
• EQS 580 Exclusive: This is the better-balanced 580 choice because it combines the stronger powertrain with the more desirable comfort and convenience upgrades. If you want the dual-motor setup and a richer feature set, this is the one to target.
• EQS 580 Pinnacle: Pick this if you want the most complete, top-end EQS experience and are willing to pay for it. It is the most luxurious version of the lineup and best for buyers who want everything available.

For safety equipment, the standard driver-assistance suite includes adaptive cruise control with steering assist, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, a driver-attention monitor, parking assist, and a surround-view camera system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find opportunities.

• Deal availability: 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 801 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.80% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,319, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS's resale value?

The current average of $39,319 sits slightly below last year's $46,149.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may pressure resale values if you plan to sell in the near future. A softer price trend usually means future sellers need to be more competitive on condition, mileage, and equipment to stand out.

The good news is that the EQS still has strong appeal as a flagship luxury EV, especially for shoppers who want range, comfort, and advanced tech in one package. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS safe?

The EQS likely won’t be a priority for these safety organizations because it’s an expensive, low-volume model.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver assistance features include adaptive cruise control with steering assist, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, a driver-attention monitor, parking assist, and a surround-view camera system. Mercedes also includes its Pre-Safe predictive occupant protection system, which is designed to help minimize injury risk if a crash is imminent.

Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Mercedes positions it as the electric equivalent of its flagship S-Class sedan, and the 2022 launch lineup establishes the EQS as the brand’s flagship EV.

The bottom line: If you want the EQS at a more favorable used-car price, the 2022 model is the right place to start because it combines strong luxury credentials with a noticeable drop from last year’s pricing. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep shopping the market closely for the best-condition example rather than stretching for a newer year.
