About 2022 Audi e-tron
Among traditional automakers, Audi has established itself as a leader in electric vehicles. Tesla may have changed the game, but Audi was one of the first to respond—with the e-tron all-electric crossover. For the 2022 model year, Audi adds the Chronos Edition as the top-tier trim, replacing the Prestige trim. The entry-level trim is called Premium, and the middle trim is the Premium Plus. The base Premium trim comes equipped with dual central touchscreens as part of the MMI infotainment system and Audi’s Virtual Cockpit digital instrument panel. It also includes power-adjustable front seats, leather upholstery, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and quad-zone climate control. 20-inch wheels, adaptive suspension, a panoramic sunroof, and a hands-free power liftgate round out the standard features on the Premium trim. Moving up to the Premium Plus adds wireless phone charging, a 360-degree camera system, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a Bang & Olufsen premium stereo system. The range-topping Chronos Edition gets unique 12-inch wheels, orange brake calipers, LED matrix headlights, and a standout gray paint job. Inside, the Chronos gains ash wood interior trim, head-up display, perforated leather upholstery, massaging seats, power soft-closing doors. The e-tron uses a 95-kWh battery pack, powering electric motors at the front and rear wheels, resulting in an all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup. Output is 355 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque, but a boost function can deliver short bursts of 402 hp and 490 lb-ft of torque. With the Boost function engaged, the e-tron will bolt from zero to sixty in 5.5 seconds, according to Audi. If you’re looking to maximize range, the e-tron can travel 222 miles on a single charge. The battery can be fully recharged in about nine hours using a 240-volt AC Level 2 charger. Volkswagen’s Electrify America DC fast chargers can charge the battery 80% in far less time. That makes for about 170 miles of range in just 30 minutes of charging. The e-tron’s battery pack is covered by an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty.
