Is the 2022 MINI Countryman a good car?

Yes — the 2022 MINI Countryman earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview shows a small SUV that blends MINI’s retro personality with practical rear-seat space and cargo room, while still keeping the sporty character that defines the model. It also appeals if you want a premium-feeling vehicle with a distinctive design and plenty of customization. The market shows 31.0% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 MINI Countryman reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a vehicle that balances personality with everyday usefulness, and that kind of appeal often matters to used buyers who plan to keep a car for a while. You should still pay close attention to condition, because the Countryman’s firm ride and weaker base engines can make neglected examples feel less appealing over time. For used ownership, the biggest long-term risk is buying a poorly maintained example that doesn’t deliver the model’s intended mix of style and practicality.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 MINI Countryman?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a thorough inspection of the suspension, tires, brakes, and interior condition. Because this model is known for a firm ride and a distinctive cabin layout, you’ll want to make sure the car feels tight, complete, and free of signs of hard use. A careful test drive should help you judge whether the example you’re considering still delivers the sporty character and practicality you want.

What is the 2022 MINI Countryman's resale value?

The current average of $21,208 sits slightly below last year's $21,876.

That decline suggests the market has become a bit more favorable for buyers, which can make future resale a little more competitive for sellers. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it’s time to trade or sell. The model’s distinctive styling and strong owner satisfaction can help support demand, especially among shoppers who want something different from a conventional small SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 MINI Countryman or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.05% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2022 is a smart pick if you want the Countryman’s mix of personality, practicality, and strong owner satisfaction, especially while prices have eased and deal availability is decent. If you’re more price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby model years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2022’s current market balance.
