The overview points to a small SUV that blends MINI’s retro personality with added practicality, including more rear passenger space and cargo capacity than MINI’s smaller vehicles. It also keeps the sporty, quirky character that helps it stand apart from more conventional rivals, while offering a range of powertrains and trims to suit different needs. Is the 2022 MINI Countryman reliable?

The overview describes a model that combines practicality with MINI’s distinctive character, and it notes that the Countryman kept its broad appeal through multiple powertrain choices and a refreshed cabin. That mix suggests a vehicle built to satisfy shoppers who want personality without giving up everyday usefulness.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific example you choose has been maintained well and still feels solid, especially given the model’s sporty, stiff-riding setup.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 MINI Countryman?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with the history report to confirm the car’s background and look for any prior damage or title issues. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the suspension, cabin condition, and overall wear, since the Countryman’s sporty personality can make ride quality and trim condition especially important. Focus on how the car feels in everyday use, not just how it looks in photos.

What is the 2022 MINI Countryman's resale value?

The current average of $21,012 sits slightly below last year's $21,946.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper upside for a future seller. If you plan to resell later, the current trend implies you should pay close attention to purchase price and condition so you have room to preserve value. A well-kept example should still appeal to shoppers who want the Countryman’s distinctive style and practicality.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
