How much does the 2022 Kia EV6 cost?

Prices have softened 6.71% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 632 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2022 Kia EV6 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Kia EV6 earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, powerful performance, and stylish design. The cabin also gets credit for feeling spacious and for packing in advanced safety features, which helps the EV6 feel more premium than you might expect from a Kia.

The trade-offs are clear: the expert review calls out unimpressive electric range and limited cargo space. That matters most if you need maximum practicality, but the EV6 makes more sense if you want a distinctive EV that is fun to drive and loaded with tech.

With 40.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Kia EV6 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels smooth, powerful, and pleasant to live with, while also highlighting a spacious interior and advanced safety features. That combination suggests the EV6 is the kind of EV many drivers can count on for daily use.

The expert review also emphasizes that the EV6’s systems are quick, easy to adjust, and well integrated, which supports the sense that the car is built to be dependable in regular ownership. It also notes a highly efficient heat pump and useful winter-battery management features.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about whether the battery, charging behavior, and real-world range still fit your needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia EV6?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on battery health, charging performance, tire wear, and any signs of uneven use or repair. For an EV like this, you also want to understand how the car was charged and whether its range still matches your driving needs.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Light trim is the least equipped and is specifically called out for its small battery pack and undersized single motor, while the Wind and GT-Line bring more desirable equipment and capability. The safety content also shows that some driver-assistance and parking features are reserved for higher trims.
• Powertrain: The EV6 uses either a single-motor or dual-motor setup, with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive depending on trim. The dual-motor setup delivers stronger output and quicker acceleration, while the single-motor versions are more acceptable than the base Light’s smaller-battery configuration.
• Safety package: Highway Driving Assist is standard on the base Light trim and includes lane-keeping, cyclist and pedestrian detection, front and rear cross-traffic alert, a driver attention monitor, rear parking sensors, safe exit warning, and rear occupant alert. Front parking sensors come on the Wind RWD trim, while the Wind AWD adds automatic rear braking and 360 cameras. The GT-Line adds evasive steering assist and more advanced adaptive cruise behavior.
• Infotainment: The EV6 uses dual 12-inch screens, and the system is quick and easy to use. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not included, so you need a wired connection. Higher trims can add a 14-speaker Meridian stereo and remote parking.
• Range & charging: The expert review describes a 77-kWh battery on the tested dual-motor version and says the car can accept up to 240 kW on DC fast charging. It also notes disappointing cold-weather range and charging sessions that were still strong even when the station could not deliver peak power. For a used EV, you should confirm real-world range, charging speed, and whether the car still behaves normally on both home charging and DC fast charging.
• Battery health: Ask for battery state-of-health information if available, and pay attention to how the car was typically charged. A used EV is usually easier to live with if it spent most of its life on home charging rather than repeated fast charging. You should also confirm how much of the battery warranty remains and whether the car still delivers predictable range in your climate.

Which 2022 Kia EV6 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Kia EV6 is offered in 4 trim levels: Light, Wind RWD, Wind AWD, GT-Line.

Here's the short version:

• Light: This is the entry point, but it is the least appealing choice because the expert review specifically calls out its small battery pack and undersized single motor. It makes sense only if you are chasing the lowest possible price and can live with the compromises.
• Wind RWD: This is the best-value trim to start with because it moves you away from the base model’s weakest setup and adds the larger battery with a higher-output single motor. It is the trim the expert review recommends starting with.
• Wind AWD: Choose this if you want more traction and a stronger feature set, including automatic rear braking and 360 cameras. It is the better pick if you want extra confidence and convenience without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• GT-Line: This is the most feature-rich version in the 2022 lineup, adding evasive steering assist and more advanced adaptive cruise behavior, along with the higher-end tech and comfort touches described in the review. It suits you best if you want the most polished EV6 experience and are willing to pay for it.

The safety package is strongest as you move up the lineup, with the base Light already getting a solid standard suite and higher trims adding more advanced features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia EV6?

It looks like a buyer’s market for this model year, especially if you are comparing multiple listings and can move quickly on a strong example.

• Deal availability: 40.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 632 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.71% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,633, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Kia EV6's resale value?

The current average of $22,841 sits slightly below last year's $24,485.

That price movement suggests the EV6 has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future resale if you buy at the right number. If you shop near the lower end of the range, you reduce the amount of value you have left to lose.

The flip side is that EV resale can be sensitive to range, charging speed, and battery condition, so a well-kept example should hold up better than one with weak charging performance or visible wear. Strong demand for distinctive, well-reviewed EVs can help, but condition will matter a lot.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Kia EV6 safe?

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The EV6 has no published test results from any government or independent agency in the U.S., so there is no crash-test rating to cite here. Even so, the standard safety equipment is extensive, starting with Highway Driving Assist on the base Light trim.

That standard suite includes lane-keeping, cyclist and pedestrian detection, front and rear cross-traffic alert, a driver attention monitor, rear parking sensors, safe exit warning, and rear occupant alert. Front parking sensors come on the Wind RWD trim, while the Wind AWD adds automatic rear braking and 360 cameras. The GT-Line adds evasive steering assist and more advanced adaptive cruise behavior.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia EV6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 40.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.71% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 stands out as Kia’s first ground-up EV, with standout styling, strong tech, and lively performance.

The bottom line: If you want the most distinctive styling and a used EV6 at a softer price, the 2022 is a compelling place to start. If your priority is broader year-over-year refinement or you want to compare feature changes, you should also look at nearby model years before deciding. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2022 can be the smarter buy if you find a clean example with the right trim and a strong battery condition report.
