What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Jeep Cherokee?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a vehicle history report to confirm accident history and ownership records. Then prioritize a thorough test drive and inspection, especially because this generation has a broader reputation shaped by earlier transmission issues. Focus on how the vehicle shifts, accelerates, and behaves at low speeds, and pay close attention to overall condition, maintenance evidence, and any warning lights or unusual noises.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Jeep Cherokee?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,275 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.11% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 81.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,256, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $22,256 sits slightly below last year's $24,759.

That price movement suggests the Cherokee has softened in the used market, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, the current trend means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and trim than it would be in a rising market. If you keep the vehicle clean, well maintained, and documented, you can help protect its appeal when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Jeep Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,561, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $22,256 average.
• The 2021 emphasizes technology and broad capability.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2022 if you want the stronger feature set and a well-liked ownership experience, especially with a healthy share of good deals in the market. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2021 is the better value path, particularly if you find one in excellent condition and can live with its older-year tradeoffs.
