The 2022 Jaguar F-Type is a taut, modern sports car with a rakish design and a range of potent engines. The name alludes to it being the spiritual successor to the iconic E-Type sports car from the 1960s. The 2022 F-Type was introduced for the 2014 model year and its exterior was updated for 2021. For 2022, Jaguar dropped the previously available four-cylinder and six-cylinder models. That leaves the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 as the sole remaining engine, but the F-Type is still available as both a coupe and a convertible.

The entry-level trim is now the P450, which has 444 horsepower, 428 pound-feet of torque, and rear-wheel drive (RWD). The P450 R-Dynamic has the same power output, routed to all-wheel drive (AWD). The range-topping F-Type R’s engine is tuned to put out 575 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, and also gets AWD. All versions come equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The F-Type R is the quickest, sprinting from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds on the way to a top speed of 186 mph, according to Jaguar.

The P450 returns fuel economy of 17 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 19 mpg combined. Both the R-Dynamic and R return 16 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 18 mpg combined.

The P450 comes well-equipped with 20-inch wheels, leather-and-suede upholstery, six-way power-adjustable sport bucket seats, a digital instrument panel, Meridian audio system, and a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Stepping up to the R-Dynamic adds 12-way power-adjustable front seats, aluminum brightwork for the center console accents, and the R-Dynamic aerodynamic body kit.

In addition to the hottest V8 in the lineup, the range-topping F-Type R features further upgraded bodywork, a power trunk lid, remote keyless entry, red brake calipers, and Windsor leather performance seats.

Base MSRP for the 2022 Jaguar F-Type is $69,900 for the P450 RWD Coupe. The P450 R-Dynamic AWD Coupe starts at $79,900, and the range-topping F-Type R starts at $103,200. The F-Type is backed by a five-year/60,000-mile limited warranty.
