Why it stands out
The 2022 Honda Pilot stands out as a family-focused midsize SUV that blends space, comfort, and a long list of useful features. In the third-generation Pilot, Honda emphasized tech and safety upgrades, and the 2022 model added standard LED headlights and standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also came with standard blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, which makes it especially appealing for buyers who want a well-equipped used SUV without having to move up to a higher trim.
What also helps the 2022 Pilot remain distinctive is how much everyday usability it offers. The Pilot’s generous cargo space is one of its core strengths, and owners often praise the spacious interior, smooth ride, and quiet cabin. The available technology is easy to use, and the cabin includes family-friendly touches such as Honda’s second-row “magic” seats, which let the middle seat be removed and stored under the rear cargo floor. That said, the Pilot is not perfect: fuel economy is only average, and some reviewers felt the interior materials could be cheap.

Car is a good value. I really like all the safety features and the third row is more spacious than one would think. However, I think the lack of sunroof and button to close the tailgate is a weird omission. These should be standard for this price range.
