Why it stands out
The 2022 Honda Pilot stands out as a well-equipped three-row SUV that leans into family usefulness without abandoning Honda’s reputation for practicality. It offers generous cargo space, easy-to-use technology, and standard advanced safety features, while owners also praise its spacious interior, smooth ride, and quiet cabin. That combination makes it appealing to buyers who want a comfortable, everyday SUV with a strong focus on convenience and passenger-friendly packaging.
For 2022, the Pilot’s third generation had already accumulated a useful set of updates. Honda had added Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration in 2017, and by 2021 dual automatic climate control and the nine-speed automatic transmission were standard across all trims. The 2022 model year also added standard LED headlights, standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, standard blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Those features help the Pilot feel modern and well rounded, even if some reviewers still found the interior materials cheap and the fuel economy only average.
What keeps the 2022 Honda Pilot distinctive is the way it balances space, safety, and everyday usability. It is not the most luxurious choice in its class, and some shoppers may wish for more upscale materials or better efficiency, but it delivers the kind of broad capability many families want in a used SUV.

Car is a good value. I really like all the safety features and the third row is more spacious than one would think. However, I think the lack of sunroof and button to close the tailgate is a weird omission. These should be standard for this price range.
