Used 2022 Honda Passport for Sale nearVirginia Beach, VA

How much does the 2022 Honda Passport cost?

Prices have softened 6.32% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,943 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2022 Honda Passport a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Honda Passport earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.

The Passport is aimed at you if you want a comfortable, practical two-row SUV with a tougher look and some adventurous character. It is described as fun to drive, with plenty of cargo space and a roomy cabin that makes it easy to live with every day.

The trade-offs are that its infotainment technology is outdated and its advanced safety features are less refined than many rivals. It also does not get top safety ratings, so you should weigh its strengths against those compromises if you want the latest tech or the most polished driver aids.

With 37.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is a decent amount of market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Honda Passport reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Passport’s appeal comes from its robust drivetrain, roomy and comfortable cabin, and generous standard equipment. It is built on an older platform, though, and that age shows up in its infotainment and driver-assist technology.

Its V6 powertrain is described as smooth and strong, and the SUV is presented as a simple, useful choice for everyday driving and outdoor trips. Honda also includes wireless smartphone charging as standard equipment, which adds convenience even if the tech interface itself feels dated.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the vehicle’s aging hardware and software may feel increasingly behind the curve as you keep it.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Honda Passport?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a thorough inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with visible wear. Focus on cabin condition, brake feel, and how smoothly the driver-assist features operate during a test drive.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base EX-L brings leather seats and plenty of standard equipment, while TrailSport adds a tougher look with unique wheels, a roof rack, simulated skid plates, orange contrast stitching, amber ambient lighting, embroidered headrest emblems, and rubber all-season floor mats. Elite sits at the top with the most equipment.
• Powertrain: The Passport uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. FWD is limited to EX-L, while TrailSport and Elite use standard AWD.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and lane-centering assist. It also adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, a rear-seat reminder, and a seatbelt reminder. Some of these systems are less refined than you may expect.
• Infotainment: Every trim level gets an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and satellite radio. TrailSport adds navigation, while Elite adds a 10-speaker premium sound system and HondaLink connected services with WiFi hotspot access.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA rates the Passport at 22 mpg combined with FWD and 21 mpg combined with AWD. The TrailSport test vehicle averaged 21.3 mpg.

Which 2022 Honda Passport trim should I buy?

The 2022 Honda Passport is offered in 3 trim levels: EX-L, TrailSport, and Elite.

Here's the short version:

• EX-L: This is the best-value choice if you want the lowest entry point without giving up the Passport’s core strengths. It brings leather seats and the full standard infotainment and safety setup, and it is the only trim with FWD.
• TrailSport: This is the trim to choose if you want the Passport’s tougher look and the most adventurous vibe. It adds unique styling details, standard AWD, navigation, and the off-pavement hardware and traction modes described in the test-drive notes.
• Elite: This is the pick if you want the most upscale Passport. It adds the premium sound system and HondaLink connected services, including WiFi hotspot access, on top of the standard equipment.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, but its lane-departure warning and lane-centering assist are less polished than you may want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Honda Passport?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right example.

• Deal availability: 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,943 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.32% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $29,110, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Honda Passport's resale value?

The current average of $29,110 sits slightly below last year's $31,073.

That softer pricing suggests the Passport is currently more buyer-friendly than seller-friendly. If you plan to sell later, the recent decline means you may need to price competitively to move the vehicle.

Even so, the Passport’s strong utility, roomy cabin, and broad appeal can help support demand over time. Well-equipped SUVs with practical strengths tend to stay relevant with used shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Honda Passport safe?

The 2022 Honda Passport earns five-star ratings in all but front passenger protection in a frontal-impact collision, which earns four stars from NHTSA, and it also gets a four-star rating for rollover resistance. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives it top ratings in most respects, but it earns an Acceptable rating for front-passenger protection in a small overlap collision.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, a rear-seat reminder, and a seatbelt reminder.

The main caveat is that several of those systems are less refined than you may want, especially the lane-departure warning, lane-centering assist, and adaptive cruise control. That makes the Passport safer on paper than it feels in daily use.

Should I buy a 2022 Honda Passport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 adds a light restyle, a new TrailSport trim, revised wheel designs, fresh paint colors, and new safety features.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $24,046, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $29,110 average.
• It carries over largely unchanged with a familiar, established feel.

The bottom line: If you want the newer look, TrailSport trim, and stronger current-market inventory, the 2022 is the better target. If your priority is saving money and you can live with an older version of the same basic formula, the 2021 is the value play.
